Just checked the video. Gameplay looks much more smooth. Looks like a ton of options for combo's with just a single weapon. That wing gundam looks so good too. It's been too long that's been in a game. Can't wait to see the gelgoog and sandrock.

Protip: Even if you don't plan on learning Japanese, knowing Katakana is an immense help with import gaming, especially for things like Gundam which use lots of foreign words, because that's what Katakana is used for.

You can also see the guy playing use Self-Destruct at one point (when he's fighting Proto-Zero and Epyon), but what effect it had I can't tell.

Re: Gundam Breaker 2: Updates and Discussion

Sadly it seemed they were too far away for it to hit or it did pretty much nothing. I guess you could use it to deny the computer the satisfaction of killing you itself?

Liking what I've heard so far, more moves, more kits, and more mission variety. Seems to be an all around improvement. I'm hoping they let you scratch the V-Hexa head, I've always liked that one.
I'm actually kind of glad its got a December release date, cash is getting tight around here and unless someone knows the secret to pulling gainful employment out of one's butt I'm not sure how long it'll stay that way. :(

I've had other tell me learning it is helpful. For these games I usually just memorize which words apply to which mobile suit. Or I just figure it out based on their number codes (zgmf-x10a is Freedom, of course.) I'm such a nerd that I usually recognize the code numbers by sight...

What different mission variety?

On the subject of language I always just relly on others translation. Breaker had a good picture someone took that translated the stats. I can't imagine importing something like an rpg. The good thing about gundam games is they are so import friendly. Not much story and it's simple. Just blow up the other suits.

Re: Gundam Breaker 2: Updates and Discussion

Welp, my copy is pre-ordered (with expedited shipping), so I should get it before the Christmas holiday.

(If anyone's wondering, I think that the game would be a little too expensive to ask for as a Christmas present.)

Re: Gundam Breaker 2: Updates and Discussion

I'm also seriously thinking about preordering Breaker 2. Would anyone around here be up for co oping online if I get it?

I see the Best version of Macross 30th comes out in a couple of days too. I wonder if I get breaker 2, should I go ahead and grab that one. I've heard a lot of good things about it.

Battleship Escort and Battleship vs, Xeno has them listed in the first post. Not to mention the possibility of missions involving sub-flight units. I know a lot of people roll their eyes over escort missions but having played Wing Commander and a certain infamous mission on Robotech Battlecry I've developed a higher threshold for pain in that respect.

Honestly I'd love a mission or two that's somewhat randomized, to help shake things up and stave off some of the repetition.

Not to mention some of the modes that were added to the first game after its one and only DLC add-on, such as the classic, FPS-standard Domination/Control Point mode.

Speaking of, I hope they modify that mode to be actually playable in singleplayer and not take FOREVER. Its fun to go through early stages later with my all powerful MG Turn A, but when it comes to those missions I just skip them. (Which stinks since several of them have great/rare parts.)

Pre-order wise, I already did so through Play-asia, my go to import shop (this is not an advert, I promise). It should come within 3-5 days of release... so just before Christmas. And a bit after my B-day.

Re: Gundam Breaker 2: Updates and Discussion

Sorry for double post, but noticed an unmentioned weapon (I think) in a screenshot I was looking at for the game: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-d3_fm7Mls58/V ... 80x720.jpg

Its Cherudim Gundam's Sniper Rifle! Doesn't explicitly mean Cherudim is in, but certainly makes it more likely.

And... thread updated. How in the hell did I miss that? At least most other sites seemed to have as well, and as far as I know my thread still has the most up to date info ;_;

Well I missed it and I know I had looked at that image more than once. I am pretty excited, cause I really want Season 2 00 Gundams. Cherudim's shield bits would be an interesting addition to the game. Though I do wonder how its axe/pistols would work, considering they are normally backup weapons. I doubt this game will let you have multiple guns or melee weapons on one suit.

Re: Gundam Breaker 2: Updates and Discussion

The Wing Zero used rolling buster rifle! YESSSSS!! I've been waiting to be able to use that in Breaker. :D

It was interesting to see that the combined twin buster rifle acted as a long rifle. I'm also glad to see Epyon using its beam sword. I hope it has a good attack animation and not the slow two-handed sword animation we had in the old game.

I'm currently putting a few of my schematics from Breaker 1 on youtube if anyone finds it useful:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vq219h02Vsc
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1RUTtmm53k

I'm probably going to pre-order the sequel. I do a lot of tinkering with schematics, so it's probably best if I solo the game first. I'd be happy to hop online to help people when they need, of course.

Re: Gundam Breaker 2: Updates and Discussion

Alright, we got a few new updates. I updated my front page with the new info, except for two bits that would be awesome if someone could properly translate (Mostly to double check whether my assumption from google translate was right):

・ユニコーンガンダム/バンシィにおけるユニコーンモード/デストロイモードのパーツは、いずれかのモードのパーツを所有していれば、対応するユニコーン/バンシィのパーツに引き継がれる。

・アストレイレッドフレーム改のレッグとバックパック以外のパーツは、アストレイレッドフレームのパーツとして引き継がれる。

It does confirm however that all parts will be transferring normally except the God Slash and Banshee Saber, and that the only other things that aren't a 1:1 transfer involve the Unicorn/Banshee and their Unicorn/Destroy modes, and something with red frame. (I saw on another board someone with a assumption that Perfect Strike means Aile/Launcher/Sword would be gone... which has no basis in anything on any site, since it says nothing about those parts not transferring. Also means that even the GN Archer legs will be transferring, GM II arms, GM III arms, GM II legs, etc. Sorry, the leaps in logic bother me so I need to occasionally rant about them >_>)

There's also a story blurb on Dengeki:

Re: Gundam Breaker 2: Updates and Discussion

It looks like they're just gonna merge Unicorn and Destroy modes for Unicorn and Banshee, so if you have the parts for either they'll transfer over. Also, Red Frame Kai's legs and backpack aren't making the transition either because it's just going to use the vanilla Red Frame's parts in place.

And the new character is Leia Heisenberg, a military school drop-out who was hired by a colony defense company and is voiced by Yoko Hisaka, known for roles such as K-On's Mio Akiyama, Hataraku Maoh-sama's Hero Emilia/Emi Yusa, and Akito the Exiled's Ayano Kosaka.

Re: Gundam Breaker 2: Updates and Discussion

So Destroy modes are now tied to the regular forms? Will you be able to switch them easily? Will the beam tonfas still be easy to use? The tonfas are all I actually care about, but I am still curious. I'm also curious cause it might reveal how Alex and its chobham armor works too.

Re: Gundam Breaker 2: Updates and Discussion

Wait, so the red frame kai parts are completely gone, or is it just that red frame kai and normal red frame are combined into one unit? (They only had minor differences before anyway BESIDES the backpack and legs.).

The translation seemed to also come out as the reverse of how you worded it, that the Legs/Backpack of the kai overtake the normal.

Re: Gundam Breaker 2: Updates and Discussion

Exact translation (and correcting a mistake):

"If you have the parts for either Unicorn Gundam/Banshee in Unicorn/Destroy Modes, those parts will transfer over to the corresponding parts for Unicorn/Banshee.

The parts for Astray Red Frame Kai EXCEPT the legs and backpack will be supplanted by the parts from Astray Red Frame."

My bad, I missed the "except" in the original thing.

Also if you want a better translation service than just Babelfishing it, try this: http://imtranslator.net/compare/japanes ... anslation/ It runs the translation through Google, Babylon, and Microsoft and shows all three side-by-side, which makes it easier to pick out a reasonable translation.

Ahh, cool, thank you. I didn't know Babelfish was even still around! Yeah, I was just really surprised they'd remove those parts specifically which is why I rechecked/asked for an elaboration.
