This is where quality links to sites and information on modeling techniques, tips, or building-helpsites will be listed. If you have any articles you have created yourself, as long as they are detailed, and follow the guideline for describing it, feel welcome to post those too.
Follow this guideline:
Try to include:
Genre Title ex:"airbrushing, painting, puttying, sanding, etc
Site URL,
Title of site,
Brief info on what the site is about or does, Does it require registration, or any other specifics of that sort.
I'm not expecting all of that data to be in THAT SPECIFIC ORDER, but do more than just post a link and say 'thats a good site'

I know what you mean i looked at it good info there but ther reason i asked this question was because i was leaning to a more of preticular suit videos i like watchin the pros make lets say a Zaku for example or a Rick Dom.
I just want to see some videos of the pros working on thier own kits because i like to see what effects they used to paint their suits so i can decide on what i want mine to be like.
You tube has great videos for this type of thing but they dont not have a wide selection only a few kits which i have seen all.

How to build GUNPLA !
Part One and Part Two.
This tutorial doesn't cover painting or airbrushing your GUNPLA but it has some neat tips and tricks for using your gundam markers, techniques to get rid of seamlines, to make your Gundam's eyes look better and to highlight and add panel-lines.

Well I've recently been watching all the videos here (see favorites):
http://youtube.com/GMKBuilder
They may be in Japanese but they're easy to understand as a non-Japanese-speaker.
If there's anyone you should be learning modeling from it's the Japanese. These guys are incredible.

scratch building resources
This thread is about tips trick and sites I've accumulated I will ask the moderators the best course of action to take when updating and linking sites weekly. For the near future I invite others to share and introduce their knowledge to this thread so other modelers can benefit from it. For the first sources of scratch building I thought tools and design should be first. Here are a few tools you'll need to get started.
1. graph paper
2. mechanical pencil
3. Sculpy/Super Sculpy
4. ruler and assorted shape makers: circle maker , compass, right triangle
5. eraser
6. assorted images of the subject your trying to mode
7. sculpting tools
8. box cutter, hobby knife, and scriber saw(hobby)
9. epoxy putty(possibly Tamiya's version)
These tools are only the ones I use and believe me are not the best if you've got some better tools please feel free to make suggestions. next would be fabrication at the moment i haven't gotten there yet here are some ideas I have collected from other sites.
Fabrication Ideas.
1. The cannibalizing method-this involves taking existing models and using their parts to supplement design needs
2. The Modification method-takes the model you have and and want to slightly modify by taking a section of your model and redesign it *Note this is the easiest and most minor way of scratch-building.
3. The full-scratchbuild method-this is the most radical and difficult method of making a model which I am currently researching. It involves taking material shaping and manufacturing them into parts that you need for the kit which you are designing.
*Note to moderator if the link or any of these are a problem please tell me I'll take them down immediately.
Basic modeling in scratch building
treat a model as if it is a possible part
all modeling when scratch building is involved imagine and make it happen
One example is if you need a thruster imagine what it is made up of and shape it to you needs.
Prototyping is a must.
When you create a prototype you want it semi-permanent( that means you Need a material which can be shaped yet become permanent when need be.
Clay is an option and so is modeling wax. I personally like Sculpy because you can bake it. This is has only a few advantages so if you have something better than by all means use it.
Approach the process in steps.
1st make a design
2nd Create blue prints
3rd prototype design
4th Refine design(testing at different stages)
5th Finalize your design( make a mold using molding appliances*RTV silicone, alginate, and rubber latex molding solutions.)
by making a mold you have a copy of the design and thus can repeat your success. Make sure to keep a record of your progress just to make sure you can cut cost in the development stages and make efficient decisions with materials. Here are some examples: *note this websites feature some pictures for developments.(links).[/url]scartch building 101 designing a model designing a model 2 design 3 tools 1 prototyping

Major updates to the tutorials: http://www.gamerabaenre.com/toolsandtechs.htm
Reorganized stuff so things are easier to find. Also; since I'm still in the midst of redoing videos and such, I figure I can throw up what I have now; which will be easier to deal with than trying to making all the changes once I'm done. Best to do this in increments as I get stuff done. I still have tons more to do...
