I did another update to my tutorials page. Adding a masking tutorial as well as adding supplamental videos to existing tutorials. The panel lining tutorial now has a video for it, as well as the V-Fin thinning/sharpening!
http://www.gamerabaenre.com/?p=141
I'm also looking for feed back, to improve the existing videos as well as looking for ideas for other tutorial videos people may be interested seeing.

C-Joint Mod
Modification to help with Painting - allowing the easy removal/replacement of assembled and seam-filled armour from the frame for painting.
I thought this was pretty cool. One of the users of the Gundam Australia Forum posted a detailed explanation of this simple mod which I searched for here and couldn't find any info, so here i is:
C-Joint Mod
Following the formula given in the first post in this thread:
The site is the Gundam Australia Forum, a forum for Gundam/Gunpla enthusiasts the world over to exchange ideas, photos, and techniques. Hosted by http://www.evilcow.net/forum
The URL for the modelling section is http://www.evilcow.net/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=12
Registration is not required to view the Gundam forum, obviously it is to post.
Edit: I also have a thread at this forum for sites with links to useful modelling tips - Here's a link

Beginner's Guide to Model Kit Building (Draft)
Is this allowed here? I want to know what you guys think of it. If not then I'll return it to my own thread.

That's a pretty nice little guide there AceWhatever. I've PM'd you a couple of ideas.
It reeks of effort to me too. The poster does make mention of his hatred of masking.SNT1 wrote:Heh, I feel like a C-Joint requires more labor and needs more skill than just masking, but others might find this more effective

Is it better to paint/ panel line before or after you assemble the suit?

Thanks. Yeah, I just got a HGUC GM Quel and tried one leg the one way and one leg after I had assembled it. The dessassembled way is easier to handle, and that's how BAKUC does it, and, as everybody knows, I sold my soul to Bandai as soon as I bought those hobby nippers.

Working with Surface Mount Tech (SMT) LEDs Tutorial
With Tetsujin's help, I put together a little tutorial based on my experience using these incredibly tiny LEDs. This is for the 0402 package LEDs, 1 x 0.6 mm wide and 0.2 mm high--small enough to fit inside Monoeye lens of a MG kit.

Scribing Panel lines (without fancy schmancy tools)
Another tutorial I put together. Too many people seem to think there is magic to doing scribing, and you gotta pay for some ridiculous new tool you saw the Japanese guy on youtube using. Not so...

LED tutorial
the 0402 package LEDs, 1 x 0.6 mm wide and 0.2 mm high. Where is a good place to acquire such a small LED?
Sorry I didn't see this sooner--e-mail notification was auto deleted.
I order them through Mouser. I understand eBay is also a source.

Every MG I have ever seen with screwa uses a small philips or cross headed screwdriver, slightly larger than the type you would use for eyeglasses, but smaller than a normal #2 screwdriver tip.
