HGUC RGM-79CR GM C High Mobility

After building a couple AoZ kits I got really interested in the designs and the TTT pinstripe scheme. After reading the first volume I set my sights on the RGM-79CR. I thought it would be rather easy to convert a HGUC GM C into the high mobility version in the manga, but it turned out to be a bit more involved.

The majority of the kit is the HGUC GM C. A HGUC Hazel II provided parts for the leg armor, crotch, ammo packs, chest camera rear camera, and ankle pistons (kinda hard to see those but they're there). I cut out the right shoulder and added the chest vent scavenged from a HGUC GM Cold Districts. The calves had to be completely taken apart to add the WAVE vernier thrusters, then filled back in with putty and sanded. The rifle was made using the Hazel's rifle as a base and adding the sight from the GM bazooka, some styrene, and an old Victory rifle barrel. Finally the ammo packs are held on by magnets and can be removed.

I used Model Master's Blue Angel Blue for the base of all the blue paint. The dark blue was made by adding a small amount of Testor's red and black. For the light blue I added quite a bit of Testor's purple then a little red. Most of the yellow pinstripes were handpainted. The decals are from Bandai's waterslide AoZ decals.
