Qs about the Gundam side story: Rise from the ashes novel.

Im a big fan of the rise from the ashes game for the dreamcast. I was wondering if someone that has read it could fill me in with some details about the rise from the ashes novel, specifically if it fleshes out some of the backgrounds of the characters or gives us some info that was not in the games. Thanks!

Edit: I was also wondering if the novel sheds some light on who that "B.B" character was.
