Yeah, thousands of years and god knows how many apocalypses later.

Indeed a possibility, if you're solely going by the one guy's "I heard [Kuntala] referred to an inferior class of people used for food." But Tomino for sure confirmed that Kuntala were once food IIRC.

It is. It's a lighthearted work but with some very very very dark undertones. (i.e. Kuntala) In any case, in the Reconguista discussions here we said it could have been Tomino's unique vision for kids rather than being standard generic kiddy fare.

Well it looks like things are starting to get interesting and heating up. Also it is quite interesting that the Guard is still separate from the Capital Army and they do not really like each other.

Interesting that Kerbes stayed with the Guard.
Spoiler
The whole argument at the end- just what are the SU-Cordists hiding and what does Cumpa Rushita ultimately want?

Was I the only who noticed that he mentions that bit about Earthnoids?

Even after the UC era, that contempt over "souls of weighed down by gravity" hasn't changed much.

I know but that means most likely he is a "Spacenoid" right?

Probably. People have called him "Space Pope" for a long time.

Yeah, that seems a given especially since we are likely going into similar war territory as far the "threat from space".

I do wonder, who the heck is Noredo Nug that even the puppet Pope goes out of his way to say hello to her?

Also I am guessing the Capital Guard know about what Bell did to the instructor.

Actually that was Kerbes and his men. Don't know why they ran into the church like that, but it couldn't be good.

No seriously what is up with the space pope and Noredo? Noredo doesn't seem really that significant... which creeps me out more.

Probably. Bell will attempt to blame the G-Self... :P

It's worth mentioning that Noredo and "Space Pope" (Gel Torimedestos) share a last name.

Really? Significant, then. So Noredo may become a far, far more important character in the future than I ever suspected.

Great episode.
Spoiler
As expected, the Guard and Army are separate entities and they aren't exactly getting along. Now all we have to wonder is what will happen in space. It would be very bad if everyone on Earth ended up having the batteries restricted. Perhaps a photon embargo will occur sometime soon, in advance of an invasion?
They don't know the power of a balanced vision.

Liking the show so far. Thought the scene where Aida and her Dad hit pause in the middle of the battle to chill on the beach was funny.

Yeah, I would have to agree that there are far too many of these "for dramatic effect" moments that would make absolutely no sense in the real world. There are also moments of ignoring physics for dramatic effect and not because of some super tech (Minovsky flight, etc.) which really yanks me out of the moment. I'm liking the show but am having a hard time recommending it to others.
