Kinda nice detail that the beam rifles for the Gazu-R and Gazu-L have scopes on opposing sides.

Hi everyone, I'm new here. Originally I was contributing to the Gundam Wiki for a little bit, but I was not really feeling the camaraderie over there, and the unnecessary hoops to post something there.

Anyway, enough of that. I have information regarding one of the obscure MS called MS-06F2 Zaku II "Big Foot" featured in Gundam Weapons 3.

This is a rough machine translation from various Japanese sources:
EDIT: I cleaned up the machine translation just a little bit based on educated guesswork

Model number: MS-06F2
Code name: Zaku II “Big Foot”
Unit type: mass production general purpose mobile suit
Manufacturer: Zeonic
Operator: Principality of Zeon
First deployment: UC 0079
Accommodation: pilot only, in standard cockpit in torso
Dimensions: overall height 17.5m
Weight: empty 49.9 metric tons; max gross 70.3 metric tons
Armor materials: Titanium alloy ceramic composite
Powerplant: Minovsky type ultracompact fusion reactor, output rated at 986 kW
Propulsion: rocket thrusters: 53400 Kg total (20500 kg x 2, 3100 kg x 4)
Performance: 180 degree turning time: 1.7 sec
Equipment and design features: sensor range, 3200 meters

=====
I believe these are equipped as such:
Standard handheld armaments: MMP-78 machine gun, drum-fed, 100 rounds per drum, spare drums can be stored on waist armor storage racks, comes equipped with MMP-78 grenade launcher; heat hawk, battery powered, can be stored on hip armor storage racks
Optional fixed armaments: 2 x 3-tube missile pod, mounted on legs
Optional handheld armaments: MMP-80/90mm Ver.8 machine gun, clip-fed, 32 rounds per clip, spare clips can be stored on waist armor storage racks; H&L-SB25K/280mmA-P Zaku bazooka, cartridge-fed, 4 rounds per cartridge, spare cartridges can be stored on waist armor storage racks; sturm Faust, rocket-propelled warhead, can be stored on waist armor storage racks; hand grenades
=====

Technical:

It is a modified MS-06F2 Zaku II equipped with a hover unit for mobility enhancement, and gained the name “Bigfoot” due to the enlarged impression of the legs.

Historical:
These units took part of the (African Front?), but due to the poor hover behavior of the mobile suits that some were reverted back to the standard type, it was considered inferior compared to the Dom Units; however some of the units still retained the modified specifications.

Known Pilot: Shin Matsunaga
Appearance: Gundam Weapons 3
===============================================================================================
MMP-78 120 mm Zaku Machine Gun:
Machine gun for MS of the military of the military called the so-called "zaku machine gun" used in the latter half of the one year war. Anti-aircraft can also be used, both equipped with a special magazine and regular drum magazine, as well as a grenade launcher can be equipped.

MMP-80 90 mm machine gun:
Machine gun for MS that was heavily used in the latter half of the one year war. Inject 90mm real bullet.

Heat Hawk:
Slashing equipment for melee battle, blade part glows red, blows enemy armor etc.

3-tube Missile Pod:
Three consecutive missile pods to mount on the legs and use for stool. It was heavily used in the ground battle, of course, it can also be used for flight in outer space.

Hand Grenade:
Proximity battle grenade. During use, the handle expands and you can throw at a longer distance. Two side skirt armor can carry.

H&L-SB25K/280mmA-P Zaku Bazooka (I believe it was this type because it uses the same armaments like a standard F2):

One of the large firearms used by Zaku. It was also used for the injection of nuclear warheads at the beginning of the war, but after waging the Antarctic Treaty it was equipped with normal warheads.

Sturm Faust:
A disposable rocket launcher frequently used in the latter half of the one year war.There is no automatic tracking device, etc. It is very difficult to hit a moving target, but it is powerful as a portable armament.

Shoulder Shield:
(Standard Zaku Shield)
===============================================================================================

I hope this information helped, the historical/technical aspect was tricky to figure out due to the inferior machine translation, but I manage to clean it up. Most of the information came from a Sakura page, and oo (geocity?) Cities page that still retained the information thankfully. I was determined to track this Zaku down using Japanese language in google.

I'm not sure if I hit the motherlode or not, but I found most of these images from a blog that talked about a old board/book game called GUNDAMU GAMES (or GUNDAM GAMES to be exact I think). It features a obscure image I saw called the Jagd Zaku (which is some weird variant of a Zaku Tank)

http://imgur.com/a/dejm9

http://imgur.com/a/uoVcD (Some type of Dom Variant)

http://imgur.com/a/vFunH

http://imgur.com/a/9bIlP (This is the Jagd Zaku I think)

http://imgur.com/a/v7rMZ (Zaku loading some kind of Tank Launcher)

http://imgur.com/a/Ynvnw (This one is interesting as it looks like it is carrying a flamethrower, and has modified leg armor)

http://imgur.com/a/qXQae (I think have seen this Camo Pattern on one of the Zakus from MSV I believe)

Hopefully someone here will eventually identify these MS.

According to an interview with the author of Gundam Thunderbolt, it would seem that it is not canon (or more rather its part of its own canon, much like The Origin):

"**CS**: Aside from director Tomino 1, you don’t hear many people involved with Gundam talking about “destroying Gundam.”

**YO**: I’m humbled [laugh]. I think in that sense Thunderbolt started off in a very fortunate position. Just as the lack of attention given the first Gundam TV series allowed it some freedom, my Gundam series is on a unique platform with Shogakukan’s Superior, so it’s not as tied down. In the beginning, I told them that I wanted to be able to work freely, even if that meant it wasn’t part of the Gundam canon, and they told me I could do what I want. However, that makes it difficult to adapt into anime and Gundam models... I suppose [laugh].
CS: So it wasn’t that they approached you and said, “Do it at this point in the Universal Century calendar.”

**YO**: It’s a bit off from the so-called “correct history,” but I did that on purpose [laugh]. I started off on the sidelines without much attention, which actually allowed some freedom as I wrote and I didn’t have to defend myself, so I decided to change what I wanted, and I think it was good that I could start that way. Being in that position is similar to how it was for the first Gundam, so I’ve been happy with it. "

I would therefore suggest to keep the profiles of the Thunderbolt units separate from their original counterparts, much like The Origin versions.

People have been massively misinterpreting that to mean that Thunderbolt is not part of UC canon. Given Sunrise's stance that everything animated is official, nothing in Thunderbolt or The Origin suggests that they exist in a separate canon.

Since you asked for it, here you are. 8)
First of all, the that gamebook is exactly titled "Gundam GAMES - How to survive in the Gundam world", and was the number 1 release in the series "Tactics Perfect Manual" of the monthly magazine "Tactics", published by Hobby Japan on May 1988.

The mecha in the linked pictures are as follows:

* picture 1 (from left to right, top to bottom)
- a team of EFF mobile suits (three RGM-79 GM and in the background an RX-77 Guncannon) in green coloring;
- MS-07A Gouf Paratrooper Hunting Type [MS-07A グフ降下猟兵];
- RGM-79 GM Sniper, in camouflage colors;
- a team of EFF mobile suits (three RGM-79 GM) in full coloring.

* picture 2
- MS-09 Dom
The head antenna identifies it as a commander unit, and from what can be guessed in the caption, it belongs to the 2nd North American Land Mobile Division.

* picture 3
a Zeon (remnants?) ground squad, formed by two MS-09G Dwadge in standard colors, two MS-06J with special backpack (in sand colors) plus a set of units in camofulage colors [a Zaku Tanker; a Cui; two standard Magella Attack and an anti-air version of it, named Magella Flak (where "Flak" stands for FliegAbwehrKanone = anti-air cannon) - EDIT No, sorry the Magella Flak does have a quite different turret; the one depicted here is an unnamed self-propelled anti-air cannon (名称不明・自走対空砲)].

* picture 4
MS-06V Jagd Zaku [MS-06V ヤークトザク]
This unit belongs to the Hannover 28th Armored Grenadier Division, 42nd Anti-MS Battalion, Destroyer Company.

* picture 5
MS-06J Zaku II [MS-06J ザクⅡ], depicted loading a mortar [迫撃砲装弾手] of the 600mm self-propelled artillery aptly named "Magella Werfer" [マゼラベルファー] (i.e. Magella Launcher").
This unit belongs to the East Asia 4th Land Mobile Division, 8th MS Hunter Battalion, Heavy Weapons Company, Mortar Team.

* picture 6
MS-06J Zaku MS Engineer Type [MS-06J ザクMS工兵仕様]
This unit, armed with flamethower (on the back), anti-MS land mines (o the waist) and two sets of three smoke dischargers (on the chest), belongs to the South Netherlands 17th Armored Division, 26th Armored Engineer Battalion, MS Engineer Team. Its legs display a special double coating.

* picture 7
MS-06J Zaku II [MS-06J ザクⅡ] handling a 360mm grenade launcher
This unit belongs to the Poland 3rd Armoired Division, MS Hunter Battalion, 2nd Company, Heavy Weapons Team.

Every link displays a warning from Photobucket about using it for 3rd party hosting.

Time to replace one more custom lineart.

Visch Donahue's Gelgoog Ground Type from Rise from the Ashes.

BTW, currently Gelgoog Ground Type's page say it's MS-14F Gelgoog M.

Wing Gundam Zero Neo Bird mode. More grainy, but what we have is so white-washed that it's very hard to see detail.
