Behind-the-scenes on the English dub of Gundam Unicorn. The part I found particularly interesting was why they decided to change Char's VA.

Patlabor, Kamui Films to Be Screened in San Francisco
The November schedule for VIZ Cinema currently lists screenings for Patlabor: The Movie, Patlabor 2: The Movie, and Kamui Gaiden.

The two Patlabor films will be screened twice; once subtitled on Saturday, November 13 (12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.) and once dubbed into English on Sunday, November 14 (4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.). The films were originally licensed in North America by Manga Entertainment in 2000; after those licenses expired, Bandai Visual USA acquired the films. In 2008, Bandai Visual USA was folded into sibling company Bandai Entertainment.

Kamui Gaiden is the 2009 live-action film adaptation of Sanpei Shirato's 1964-1971 manga The Legend of Kamui. The film will be screened daily from November 19 to December 1 at varying times. The movie began filming in 2007 and opened in Japan in September, ranking #3 on its opening weekend. Funimation announced its acquisition of the film this past January

It should probably be noted as a small point of interest for Neo if he doesn't know who Michael Sinterniklas is, he is the dub voice of Gai from GaoGaiGar.

Just thought I would throw that in, in case Neo isn't sure who he is.

Re: Neo's News - Listener Submitted Articles

Oh man... The anime industry loses yet another one of its major contributors...

Yushinobu Nishizaki, best known for being the co-creator of Space Battleship Yamato (Star Blazers), has passed away today (Nov 7th). According to the Anime News Network, it was due to drowning after he fell down from a boat. :(

As any Yamato fan would know, there were major copyright issues regarding the franchise, between Nishizaki and Leiji Matsumoto, that have been going on for years. I wonder what's going to happen now.

Kind of curious as to your thoughts on the subject of this article... Does anime need "Naruto Horror Picture Show"?

Can a pop opera bring Japanese Animation to life? (From CNN)

Re: Neo's News - Listener Submitted Articles

Looks like some toys and other goodies from Japan may have trouble getting to the US for the holidays.
The Japan Post Office announced November 12 that from November 17 it would indefinitely stop accepting mail parcels to the United States weighing more than 453 grams. The Post Office has at this time given no indication of how long this suspension will last only saying that it is “for the time being.” This suspension includes all regular international airmail parcels, as well as EMS. The Japan Post Office (JPO) has cut Japan off from the US entirely, at least as far as airmail parcels over a pound in weight go. The reason the JPO gives for this action is that following attempts to send explosives through air cargo from Yemen to the US, American security measures for air cargo have become increasingly severe. America and Guam are included in this provision, raising the strong possibility that Christmas and year end parcels will not be able to be sent from Japan to the US, which is likely to cause massive confusion.
However, companies that ship regularly are apparently exempt. Bad news if your friend in Japan is trying to ship stuff to you.

Ghost in the Shell Solid State Society 3D remake
Ghost in the Shell is finding itself in dire need of a shorter title with the announcement of a 3D remake in the form of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Solid State Society 3D, to be presented in stereoscopic 3D, whilst One Piece is actually getting a fully CG edition.
GITS SAC SSS 3D is described as in “complete 3D,” although it seems only the opening will actually be getting any new material.
The movie opens in Japan on the 26th of March 2011.
