Chapter 12: Repair and Recovery (Earth)

A big grin came over his face. "You don't seem to understand my position. I'm allowed to do anything that doesn't endanger personal. And trust me drawing blood is nothing compared to some people. Besides as part of your physical we need to check you for problems that could affect your position as a pilot or others on base. So we will get this part of the exam over now and be done with it." He was really excited to be having something new to play with. So leaning in quickly stuck the girl with the needle perfectly without any need to raise the vein and drew just enough before pulling the needle out.
"See all done and you might have just increased the power of this organization." He grabbed a bandaid and tossed it at her. "Your done here Miss and thank you. I'll get back to you when I can keep up my part of the deal." With that he completely ignored them and took the sample away for anaylse.

He was shocked at what happened but kept quiet and just watched. Once it was done he grabbed the girl by the arm and drug her out of the R&D department before something else happened. "I'm sorry that guys a total nutcase... but I do promise he knows what he's doing." Kylern was rather angry with all that happened.
"I hope your alright. I feel partly responsible for what happened to you."

"Sure I guess... I've got nothing to do until G training." He tapped the TD patch on his uniform. "They force me through intense training regiments to make sure I don't pass out during high speed tatical maneuvers." He laughed slightly remembering the intensity of the Astelion. The Twin Tesla Drive made things so much more difficult but the performance was worth it.
"But if your that worried about the man then just take it from me. He's the one that was put in charge of my adaptation to this universe. Yeah he's strange but he does a good job." But if this girl was that concerned then it seemed he had no choice but to follow her to Bian's office. Actually Kylern hated this part... He had only seen the man once compared to others who visited whenever possible. Something about the man got under his skin.

"So you're curious Mr. Kamiya? Tis ship was named from Norse mythology. The home of both the King of gods and the Einherjar, Brave souls he choose that would fight with him even when facing the Ragnarok, their version of the apocalypse. The original design for the ship came through the Portal on one of our early attempts. We built it hoping to learn more about the technology involved. though it worked we were unable to understand how some of it's systems worked and it was put in dry dock to be rebuilt from the ground up. The result of that rebuild is what you see today."
Through out this explanation Altair projected an air of command and strength something comforting and yet inspiring.
Tallis Stenner/Sume Gai
The masked man was offering her a chance to be a pilot what she claimed she was striving towards but Tallis wasn't certain. Confidence deserted her even as she was excited by the new mech and it's it's partner.
Gai with an understanding that was too great for a stranger picked up on Tallis' hesitation.
"I believe that you can do it but if you are unsure you may have some time to think it over."
Tallis who was wholly absorbed in her self debate heard the words but missed the fact that this "stranger" understood her so well.

Natalia and him had chased intercepted Wraith around the corner when he infiltrated the base. But he was content to let her do what she wanted because it didn't affect him in the least. He was just here as escort it seemed.
While they waited for the door to open and them be let in he got a closer look at the girl's ears. If she had been genetically altered and had some power to heal then he immediately thought of her as a Newman from Phantasy Star. That tickled his geekiness deep down since he had loved those games, maybe in the same way he had liked Final Fantasy. Except Phantasy Star was Sega and he had always been a Sega fan. Maybe before all this ended he could talk someone into making him a proton saber or something... Wouldn't that be amusing.

Bian was looking over various news reports and broadcasts out of Hong Kong. What he saw wasn't good as it showed the Wing Zero of all things running wild in the middle of the city.
He said he could handle it and then this happens.
However one suit on the loose was nothing compared to what happened the next day when the Federation attacked the Ceres in her neutral dock.
"with the latest death toll now reaching nearly 700 with thousands more injured as a result of the wide scale destruction in and around Victoria Harbor." came the voice of the reporter from the view screen that sat on his desk.
It seems that the Federation is now considering us a more priority threat now that we have what was their best weapons at the time we got them.
It was then that there was a knock on the door. "Dr. Bian, you're not busy are you?" came the voice of Rena Lanford.
"No, please come in."
It might help her to see this and what the Federation is really like.

Her expression turned to dread as she realized that the Federation was responsible.

"We're all done with the transfers Sir. everyone is aboard."
before answering Zaine's questions Altair turned and accknoledged Sylvia.
"Very well; Ms. Ral prepare to separate the two ships."
A simple 'Aye' followed as the girl and ODIN began carrying out the orders. Sylvia contacting the Ceres to confirm the completion of the Transfer and ODIN prepping the ship for flight.
"Mr. Kamiya this ship's main battery are a pair of top mounted Hadron Cannons and Bart missiles, which I'm told can take out battle ships in one shot if they hit. As for who ordered that young woman's transfer it was handed down through the personnel office and I can't tell you if anyone in particular requested the decision."

"All right... but if I find out you're hiding something, I won't be in a very good mood the next time we meet." With that, he left for the hangar to see what was going on there.

He followed after her and stood on the wall as she was the one that wanted to come here. His hands were in his pockets as he watched what was going to happen next. It seemed the topic on the table for discussion was the battle of Hong Kong which he too had heard rumors of and had seen in reports from his mobile terminal. He would wait until Bian made some spill before entering his own perception because he probably had a much different way to see them then the man would give. This was obviously going to be a chance for Bian to indoctrinate Rena, at least that was the term Kylern had been taught in his Foreign Policy class back home.

The Gundam team could have gotten out of Hong Kong and dealt with the Federation outside of the city if they hadn't dropped the ball so early." Kylern shrugged his shoulders with his hands still in his pockets. "Not that I'm excusing the Federation's heavy handed use of force but it could have been avoided." His eyes were closed as he dipped his head and listened to what came next. Maybe he would be yelled at which didn't matter to him. Kylern believed himself higher than group think and partisanism that plagued the system here. The only reason he was even with the DC was for one goal and that was to stop the violence with any means necessary.

Having landed in Whenuapai moments ago, all the pilots were treated into nice beds in specialized quarters. Tomorrow's the big day, after all, when they strike at dusk.
The talk is all about the Hong Kong raid. Crewmen and some of the local pilots had little television sets in the hangar. Of course, Rachel passes by and mutters something about "harboring a top Federation renegade ship" not being exactly a smart thing.
Slug had a more lax comment. "I never thought sonic booms could cause so much death," he says and rolls his eyes as he watches the slanted news.

Gai turned the mask hiding his expression as he tried to place the pilots name. Before he could however Tallis answered.
"Ah.. Zaine it seems they're giving me a chance to pilot... that Machine.
Tallis Pointed over to the Black and Silver Weissritter.
"But... I'm worried... I'd just be... a Burden to you all..."
She looked down clearly unsure. The Man in Black and Gold spoke the first time Zaine had heard his voice.
"Tallis. I believe you can. no, I know you can fight. I looked over your simulation scores; your accuracy is top notch."
There was something calming in the words of the masked man.

He pulled Tallis into his arms... but for more than one reason. Once he had his arms around her, he tilted his head slightly so only she could hear what he was about to say. Tallis, this is your chance to shine. If you pass it up now, you may never get another chance. After saying that, he let go of her and backed away a bit, waiting for her to respond.

A sound like a burlap bag full of wrenches being shaken in rythm echoed in the halls of the Valhalla as Michael approached the bridge. The sound stopped with the clicking of heels and a whirring of gears as he saluted the captain, hood still covering his face.
"Captain Michael Radachi. I take it we're about to move under way? If so I'd like to watch from here on the bridge as defacto leader of the expedition."
He dropped the salute and moved off to the side, watching the skies from the bridge bay windows.
"I hope this new endeavor bodes well for the Divine Crusaders. Though I can't help but shake this nagging feeling.."

Tallis' indecision was almost replaced with embarrassment at Zaine's actions, right in plain view no less. But his words rang true; this chance might not appear again. but still if she-
"Tallis! nothing is gained by hesitating. I know you have the skill and the determination to be a great pilot."
something about both Zaine's words and this masked man's assurance finally made up her mind.
"I'll do it."
Tallis moved towards the machine and the fate she had just claimed.
Sume Gai
He smiled under the mask as she walked towards the Weissritter. He wasn't lying when he said he was certain that she could be a great pilot he had seen even with the little training he had given her that she was a quick learner. Her only problem was confidence. Gai gave Zaine a quiet scan as he crossed his arms.

Even had the Captain not introduced himself his nature gave away his identity quite easily.
"Welcome aboard Mr. Radachi. you may stay as long as you wish, take a seat if you want."
