I read that years and years ago. Loved it.
I really need to read it again.
(That movie adaptation they did a while back with Jim Caviezel was bloody dreadful, though)

Finished and really enjoyed Forever Peace, although the ending felt kinda rushed and/or abrupt for my tastes.

After that, I went through Nicholas Pileggi's Casino. I've seen the movie countless times, so I figured it was time to read the book it was based on, which turned out to be very good (And the film was pretty faithful to, like Goodfellas was to Wiseguy, which I expected).

Following that, and yet another run to the book store, I picked up and raced through The Games That Changed The Game by Ron Jaworski in about a day. It was an excellently done book (In my head, I read most of it in Jaws' voice, or those of some of the people he interviewed for it) and worth reading for any NFL fans.

And on that subject, I'm now reading The Best Game Ever by Mark Bowden. I'm already very familiar with the main subject (The 1958 NFL Championship game), and I've liked what I've read from Bowden before (Namely Black Hawk Down, which has always been a favorite of mine). I haven't gotten very far into yet (Just a couple of pages), but so far it seems pretty good...

Finished Sword and Sorceress XXVII. As usual with short story anthologies, some stories I liked and some I didn't, although I felt that overall this was a bit weaker than previous volumes.

Next up, Dark Serpent by Kylie Chan.

Okay, a bit behind on updaying my reading list... finished Dark Serpent and Sword of Light by Katherine Roberts, both of which I enjoyed and am looking forward to the sequels. I'm now onto An Officer's Duty by Jean Johnson.

Catching up once again...

The Best Game Ever was good. Gave a lot of background to many of the figures in the game and was an excellent account of the game. After that, I read another Bowden book, Killing Pablo, which I also enjoyed. From there I went through Up Front by Bill Maudlin. I mainly picked that up for the comics in it (Which I've seen in countless history books over the years and always liked), but his writing was excellent as well. The only flaw in it was there were several times it referred to comics that weren't actually in the book (And in a few cases, they were ones I've got in other books ), which was kind of annoying...

Anyway, I'm now on to a Phillip K. Dick collection called Four Novels of the 1960's, which contains The Man in the High Castle, The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, and Ubik. I mainly picked it up for the first and third novels (The former had been recommended to me, the latter I've always wanted to read since I saw Blade Runner forever ago), and cause I read and liked a few of his short stories, so I'm gonna go through them all cause why the hell not? 8)

Finished An Officer's Duty. I enjoyed it overall, although if seemed to spend more time setting up future events than telling its own story.

Next up, more mil-SF, with First Flight by Chris Claremont (yes, the same Chris Claremont who is known for his work on X-Men)

Hitting Macchiavelli's Prince as light reading. :D
I'd read it years ago, and hadn't really realized what I'd been reading. I'm doing a better job of it now. :)

First Flight wasn't really doing it for me, so I've moved on to The Lance of Truth by Katherine Roberts, the second in the Pendragon Legacy series.

Finished The Elvenbane, which I enjoyed and made me want to read the other books in the series, although the I felt climax was over too fast. Now on to Driven by Eve Kenin.

Driven was unimpressive. I'm now onto Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas.

Finished Throne of Glass, which I liked. Hopefully there'll be a sequel at some point.

Next up, Perfect Scoundrels, the third of Ally Carter's Heist Society books.

Just finished The Road to Betrayal on Kindle. If we mecha fans don't like a read like this, I don't know what we will. (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DSILTCO). Amazing stuff, and still very much under the radar it seems. I might even have to create a thread about it soon. The way its settings reflect reality and talk about reality isn't seen too much in the genre as we know it. The closest thing like it is maybe Gundam 00 Season 1, but it goes beyond that in terms of non-mecha story elements.

The humanity and plot were there, and the action was diverse and creative. In one sequence, a train developed for war is chasing a renegade tank through a tunnel, and the tank turns into a mecha! I'll leave the rest to your imagination. Since there's been a lot of complaints lately around here about "serious" mecha in regards to Gundam AGE and such, I've put the book's website in my signature below if people want to check out more details about this find. It's definitely got some cool sections to it.
