Chaos Impulse querie
I was wondering, when the Chaos Impulse transforms into MA mode, where do the legs go? On the Gaia and Abyss Impulse, you can see what happens to the legs, but on the Chaos Impulse you cannot. Do the legs seperate and fly around while the MA is killing everything then reattach afterwards? http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/destin ... -chaos.htm I mean it's very strange, even though I find the Chaos Impulse to be the coolest Gundam out of any in any universe.

You ever wonder where the Legend began? Watch as the most useless, becomes the most feared in the galaxy

While I have not read Destiny Astray, I'd guess that the legs probably fold up somewhere or they contract themselves inside the main unit. Thats just some speculation/guess work...
edit: Oops, I guess I was wrong about that...

Warning: When using Minovsky Particles, please do not drive or operate heavy machinery. If you have a Newtype Flash lasting longer than 6 hours, please call 911 as this may be a sign of a serious and life threatening side-effect. Ask your doctor if taking Minovsky Particles are right for you.
That seems to be the case. The leg flyer detatches in MA mode, and redocks in MS mode. It's a good use of the modular design really, and it doesnt require any transformation modding done to the basic Impulse frame.

just looks really strange though. but i guess if you wanted a true fast multivector attack version of the impulse without resorting to dragoons, the choas silohuette is the way to go. well i still like it better than the gaia impulse's "there appears to be a gundam growing on my ***" look

The Gaia would, you can see the shape of the legs are built for it. The Abyss doesn't really fully need specialised legs, though it has them (it has to mount the propulsion system for underwater use). The Chaos Impulse MA mode just seems odd, it should keep some legs for the thrusters if nothing else.

I think it's really an issue of trying to keep the transformations simple enough for the basic Impulse Gundam frame. Mounting claws on the legs would probably make it more complicated to transform.

I don't think that would have bothered Zaft all that much if they went to the trouble of making different legs for the other two.
As for what EZero8 said, that's not really true, all you'd need to do is mount the fold out composite claws and make the knee's bend both ways, that's not all that complicated really, that way it would be more like the actual Chaos.
(Edit) To what Homeless said: Well the point of these variations was to test the equipment and other stuff for the three Gundams that eventually got stolen, so it's not reall a problem if it strays away form the original concept, at least that's how I understood their purpose, I may be wrong.

Actually, it was the other way around. The three Gundams (Gaia, Chaos, Abyss) were testing equiptment which could later be used on Impulse (e.g. Chaos Impulse).CYNICISM AT IT'S BEST wrote: (Edit) To what Homeless said: Well the point of these variations was to test the equipment and other stuff for the three Gundams that eventually got stolen,
the way they were going about producing so many different types of silohuettes you would think they were planning on mass producing the impulse. it wouldve made sense to have the impulse become a command ms type with its modular technology that can adapt to almost any and all combat situation.

too bad it never happened. it wouldve been awesome to see an army of variously equipped impulses leading a zaft army. of course where would that leave the good ol monoeye. unless you come up with zaku impulse.

You mean like ZAKU Splendor units that can mount the Wizard packs? Check out SEED Destiny MSV on MAHQ, it's there, though can't use any packs.razgriz wrote:too bad it never happened. it wouldve been awesome to see an army of variously equipped impulses leading a zaft army. of course where would that leave the good ol monoeye. unless you come up with zaku impulse.
And I always though that those three Silhouettes were testing grounds for the trio of Gundams... though that would leave the Proto Chaos without much prototyping.
the proto-choas wouldve been necessary because all the other units had the predecessors necessary to perfect their respective capabilities, zaft had a lot of underwater ms experience with its goohn and zno and of course the bucue took care of making sure the gaia was a formidable machine but the chaos comes around as more of a bastard child since zaft wasnt really one for MA technology.
