Space Colonies: How close are we to making them?

you know how long it took to make the ISS, yeah making a space colony will take hundreds of years and with our level of technology(sending things to space with a rocket) who knows

it would be good if we spent the same amount of money on NASA as is spent in the military

we need to get off this planet!!! things are getting really crazy
