Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk III
Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn Mechanics and World and the Prismatic Mobiles feature.
Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk III
Okay then! I think if you untangle the two sources you've spliced together here, you'll find they make perfect sense in context. The "Mechanics and World" profile is talking about the Jegan in general, and the "Prismatic Mobiles" article is discussing the D type in particular. The text you posted seems to be alternating back and forth between the two sources, so it's no wonder you're confused.
This part is basically taken from the "Mechanics and World" discussion of the Jegan in general:

This part is basically taken from the "Mechanics and World" discussion of the Jegan in general:
And here's the material from "Prismatic Mobiles" which is specific to the D type:The Earth Federation Forces next generation mainline mobile suit developed by Anaheim Electronics.
Whereas the variable units and large craft developed since the Gryps War did not go much beyond experimental units in terms of overall strength and total cost, conventional mobile suits deployed following the One Year War were showing their age. This unit is what AE had in mind when they suggested it as the next generation mainline mobile suit: an advanced general-purpose and long term use machine.
This unit was planned to be the successor unit of the Federation Forces mainline mobile suit which began with the GM. Development moved forward in the form of expanding the technology of the AEUG’s main mobile suit Nemo which incorporated former Zeon technology. [...] The main body weight was lightened to about half in comparison to the GM. As a result of this, [...] it became a suitable machine for the new age that greatly surpassed conventional models.
In addition, the excellence of this basic design is evident because various subtypes were developed from it. The [Type D] would become the parent unit to the Stark Jegan, a high mobility type.
There are some weirdnesses in the translation, but simply untangling the mishmash of sources does a lot to make this clearer. In U.C.0094, as a trend of disarmament was increasing in the Federation Forces, a development policy was adopted regarding mobile suits. Rather that develop new models, existing models were refit to allow for various optional equipment exchanges so they could respond to a wide variety of uses.
The shoulders and legs were expanded to allow for a special mount latch allowing for various optional equipment loadouts with ease.

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk III
It's not that, it's just that in all of the Unicorn publications they refer to the RGM-89D as just the Jegan. Did this replace the one from CCA, which was just the RGM-89? That's what I was getting at. When I was reading it, I was like "the D type isn't anything special 0_o;"
Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk III
I think you did confuse yourself by mixing the profiles together. If you just look at the Prismatic Mobiles one, it should be much clearer what the changes in the D type actually are.
And yes, most sources just call the RGM-89D the Jegan, not "Jegan Type D". It's possible that it's completely replaced the original model, since its performance is virtually identical and it has the extra mount latches for optional equipment. The Prismatic Mobiles writeup doesn't really say, and in the animation, the only Jegans we've seen are are the A2 types aboard the General Revil and the D types aboard the Nahel Argama. So that's a legit question.

*shakes fist* Curse my attempt at being crafty. All of this because the darn Jegan from the Across the Sky has "Type D" in it's name for a change -_-;toysdream wrote:I think you did confuse yourself by mixing the profiles together. Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk III
Jegan Type D refers to the Type D, while Jegan could refer to the original Jegan as well as its variants.
I know that at the time of the novel, D was not specified and it was merely Jegan Ver.Ka then.

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk III
Maybe not in the text of the novel, but the "Mechanical Archives" book that was released as a tie-in to the novel has a whole section devoted to the "RGM-89D Jegan (D Type)" with detailed artwork, specs, and technical explanations.

Confirmed: Rebawoo Nutter can attack, so those fins on the legs are likely beam cannons/guns

Heck, I don't care.
The JP Wiki isn't exactly infallible, either.

I doubt we'll get more Rebawoo lineart soon, so we should now wait for the Torrington Base attack that'll happen on Bande Desine.
We''ll get to see the Byarlant Custom Unit 2 and perhaps some more cameos, like getting full lineart of the Nemo III from OVA 4.

The Barzam that might appear in OVA 7 or Bande Desinee

Cool how Katoki finally put the gimmick where the Beam Rifle connects to the arm in use, it was only on lineart notes before. Disliking the Grenade Launcher though, but it also comes from an unused design by Hideo Okamoto from Newtype 100% Collection.

But which faction will it serve? If the EFSF, then that is just sad.

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Mecha Thread Mk III
If i did not read wrongly, the UC MSV site notes that the Banshee's chest was badly damaged at the end of the battle with Rebawoo and Phenex, and was modified after that. I suppose this is an attempt to explain why the Banshee in the anime has a slightly different collar from the normal Unicorn Gundam.

Keep in mind that is from the PRE-RELEASE VERSION and doesn't necessarily carry over to the final versionbalofo wrote:More Rebawoo awesomeness: the shield has an I-Field. Source is page 10 of the script
