Re: Do you guys think we will see more sequels of old mecha series?
On TV, we're getting an adaptation of an Angelic Layer -esque gacha game called LBX Girls , a Gridman spinoff SSSS.DYNAZENON , Getter Robo Arc , and Muv-Luv Alternative . AFAIK, Code Geass: Z of the Recapture has no release date at present. Didn't Fafner THE BEYOND already come out last year? All i...

Re: Newtype premonition: Telepathy or precognition?
Say, do you think understanding and empathy have any impact toward Newtypes? Like, if you understand an enemy as a person, you can better interpret that person's intentions that you have learnt through telepathy?

Re: Do you guys think we will see more sequels of old mecha series?
I want new thing more. Agree. But I've got a feeling that studios will try to bank more on nostalgia and familiarity in the foreseeable future. Things already looks uncertain enough before the pandemic. And is it just me or does it seem like more and more yearly hits are adaptations of already exis...

Do you guys think we will see more sequels of old mecha series?
2021 looks like it could be a good year for sequels of mecha series. Right of the bat we have already got Getter Robo Arc and the sequel for Code Geass. Then there is the still ongoing (about to be wrapped up) Evangelion 4.0 and Fafner Beyond. Do you think that we'll get even more sequels for mecha ...

Re: Newtype premonition: Telepathy or precognition?
I think even the Zaku releases a noticeable amount of M particles, just that the density isn't going to be battle level. All Minovsky type fusion reactors release M particles, and they surely can be used to recharge beam sabres and to a certain degree, beam guns.(As early as the GM's beam sabre) so...

Re: Newtype premonition: Telepathy or precognition?
It has been established that the NT's abilities other than the highly accurate prediction abilities, are all from interaction with the Minovsky particles. M particles are medium for Psycommu waves, NTs can sense this and create Psycommu waves of their own. The Waves essencially act like radar waves...

Newtype premonition: Telepathy or precognition?
Again and again Newtype (and X-Rounder too) pilots have shown the ability to sense and react to threats split seconds before they actually happen. Do you think that this is ability is telepathic or precognitive in nature? It's the difference between "I can sense this guy over there has intentio...

Say, how would naval warfare change with the advent of amphibious mobile suits such as the GOOhN and Deep Forbidden?

Re: ZAFT'S Land and Sea craft.
The even incomprehensible thing is that in MSV-R, the Principality had this giant machine that basically worked like their version of the AGE System, automatically design, calibrate, and produce components. That means 0070s-era computers had more than enough computing power to do whatever we can now...

Re: Who comes up with the basic design for mecha?
Depends. The very basic design of Zaku, for example, was basically a very cruel drawing of Tomino depicting something that look suspiciously like a Storm Trooper.(He denied he watched SW beforehand and Gundam had anything to do with SW, but the beam sabre is just too obvious that even if he himself...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I
Just wondering, after Frontier what is the legal status of the Vajra? Does NUNS sees them as a dangerous specie best left alone, a kill-on-sight enemy, or even a party that could be reasoned with through Ranka?

What kind of glass coating does machines in space use?
So I listened to a podcast which they mentioned in passing about glasses in sci-fi. So basically glasses use in shuttes have to be extremely strong and have a high melting temprature to withstand the differences in heat and pressure of atmospheric entry. That is why they make these glasses from quar...

So, new development: https://i.4cdn.org/m/1606889959321.jpg https://i.4cdn.org/m/1606890021907.png Basically, in Mobile Suit Gundam UC Episode EX2 Lion's Return manga, Banagher now piloted a Gundam Mk-II with a modified right arm from the Silver Bullet. And that arm still had the quick-swap mechanis...

Piloting high-performance models harder than entirely new machines?
Just wondering, the Zaku High Mobility Types have always been said to be hard to master, right? But how hard is it compared to the Gelgoog? Which do you think create this difference? Hardware to software. And I would extend that questions to the GINN High Mobility Type and the GuAIZ.

Re: Beam saber or beam naginata?
The EFF beam javelin is likely so expensive that it never got mass produced. Also, the beam javelin would make much more sense if the tip isn't turn into that ball but still a long sabre blade. Would be more effective than the hidden arms they made a few MS to have in the Gryps period. But yes, it ...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread
That reminds me, how did the Ghost has two designations: AIF-7 and QF-4000? The only case in real life when that happened is the jointly-developed Chinese/Pakistani Thunder. And speaking of the X-9, if we just talk about raw numbers, how good are its stats to the YF-19 and YF-21? Also, anyone here k...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread
Say, how hard is it exactly to train anyone to control a VF and the ghost fighters at the same time? If I remember correctly, Frontier did mentioned somewhere that Luca was a special case even among SMS pilots And between the AIF-9 and AIF-7, which one would immigration fleets choose? Also, after th...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread
You know, I've been wondering why haven't anyone made a 5th generation compact VF that positions itself as the successor of the VF-171? Is there anything restrictive to size when it comes to stuffs like the Fold Wave system? Also, what kind of immigrant feet that would choose an all-Ghost defense fo...

Beam saber or beam naginata?
I have been wondering why did Zeonic had the Gelgoog Marine and Jaeger using beam sabers instead beam naginata like the previous model? Is this because beam sabers are both easier to use and cheaper to make--I can imagine pilot scared of cutting themselves while using the beam naginata. On the other...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread
Do you think that anyone would try to do anything to squeeze out a few more years of service from the VF-171 by upgrading it? Is there anything we can do to this platform? Or is the VF-25 is too much of a cost-effective offering to pass by? And what is the chance of one of the "missing numbers&...
