Re: Forgotten mecha shows?

STUFF i watched all of the mentioned shows. havent finished revisions though. Sunrise's Mai franchise- i say its more along the lines of Tech based(or in this case techno organic looking) magical girls. the girl's Child look like mechs but are clearrly magical in nature. being tied to the HiME's mo...

Re: Could anyone please explain to me different Transformer timeline?

I'm not that well versed into TF lore myself. buy i have watched my fair share of TF TV shows. here's what i can share. The original 80s cartoon and Beast Wars are in the same continuity.(the Maximals/Predacons are descendants of Autobots/Decepticons) when the show was aired in japan it ignored some...

Re: Forgotten mecha shows?

Anyone watched Zegapain? The mech's look cool, and the CGI seems to integrate fairly well.It went out of print and was License Rescued, but nothing seems to have been heard of it since. only watched the first episode. and before that,my first exposure to it was through..a tony taka doujin. :D i che...

Re: Forgotten mecha shows?

Anyone have watched Daimos? With Voltes V getting a remake soon, I'm thinking about finishing Combattler V and maybe watch Daimos. Daimos is imo the better of the three Nagahama Mecha shows. the robot action is much more intense thanks to how the robot is controlled. and this is bias coming in but ...

Re: Forgotten mecha shows?

Details seem kinda scarce in English. Some sources say there was to be a full second season, that was cut down due to low ratings and Blu Ray sales. However other sources say press releases were vague on exactly what the "Final" project was going to be. However given how much story line g...

Re: UC elitist fans...

Stuff and this is why i dont really fanboy over directors/seiyuu/what nots and could care less about who works on what. if it entertains me that enough. knowing who directed/voiced/drew whatever is for trivia time. does this also apply to those Sakuga addicts? i have never been into using that word...

Re: Forgotten mecha shows?

So, i recently started playing SRW X(after playing SRW V for 4 times :D) and there's one show there that fits the bill quite fine.

Buddy Complex.

i remember watching this and enjoying what i saw. anyone got the details on what happened to the production? i recall reading that it was cut short.

Re: Forgotten mecha shows?

Anyone here have watched Gonzo shows back in the early 2000s? They have got Gravion, and to a lesser extend, Burst Angels and Samurai 7. I always like Gonzo for their "trashiness"--they put so much effort in the animations, but a lot of times their stories and characters stuck in the 1980...

Re: Forgotten mecha shows?

Yes, I have watched the whole series. Combat wise, the more towards the end, the more Gundam it becomes. I'd say it is at least coherent and maintained a reasonably thought out plot. Ending is Madoka(TV) like. hilariously, the fate of one character is a Full on Zeta Gundam reference!!! i am gonna w...

Re: Forgotten mecha shows?

Has anyone watched Scared Rider Xechs? It's an Otome game turned Anime about a woman leading a team of Bishonen into combat against interdimensional invaders. I only watched one episode before Daisuki went out of business. So i wonder if anyone knows if the show focused more on the relationships(as...

Re: Forgotten mecha shows?

i certainly haven't. but it's only 7 episodes. so i can make time for it. same for the Yaoi mecha OVA. but i have to gather some guts..the video preview already showed the action that i wasn't looking for. now here's a title thats kinda in a weird position.. IdolMaster Xenoglossia. i made a comrade ...

Re: Forgotten mecha shows?

oh man, i completely forgot about Neo Ranga. that one is a fun watch. and i of course watched it in dub. i watched this 2 times. but only because i stopped midway through this one could make for an amusing Unit in SRW. i can see its being something like Deoxys, with differnte stats for its game spec...

Re: State of the Mecha Genre

2021 guys! and Back Arrow turned out to be an actual emcha show instead of powered armor..though thats more on me for now watching any trailers and reading articles. and the combination of Chinese and Cowboy aesthetic is kinda refreshing, Sugita in the cast is a plus..but the main dude being voiced ...

Re: Forgotten mecha shows?

I agree with what was said earlier in that sometimes the shows that are obscure become that way because they weren't very good/interesting to begin with. Jinki Extend is a confusing mess that is more concerned with fanservice and juggling two convoluted plotlines(SPOILER:its not really clear they'r...

Re: Forgotten mecha shows?

Female High school on a battleship? Sounds interesting enough as a concept. The mecha design isn't really my type though. its more along the lines of BIG Jojo Stands TBH. and speaking of stands, there's another anime thats like that. Shattered Angels or in the japanese, Kyoushiro to Towa no Sora. a...

There was Pilot Candidate I watched, not that good, but not bad as people made to claim. You mean https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Candidate_for_Goddess? About Canditate for Goddess and its author how did the anime go by the way? i was kinda interested in watching it. the cat girl was cute. there ...

Re: Forgotten mecha shows?

Anyone here who have watched that Neo-Byston Well OVA of Dunbine? I've always wanted to check it out since having the Sirbine on SRW T. I've been on a 90s Sunrise binge lately. Finally finished Gasaraki and Gulkeeva (Sunrise thought that they could replicate the success of Samurai Trooper. They wer...

Re: Forgotten mecha shows?

I speculate that the whole subplot of Cybuster slowly being corrupted from usage of imitation ritual converter is setup so Raveraide and Sakito need to come and save Masaki . Isn't that the whole thing about Asakim Dowen was Masaki? Anyone here who have watched Platinumhugen Ordian? I'm not the big...

Re: Forgotten mecha shows?

OH! Someone who also like Soukou no Strain! i too like that one. also only watched it in dubbed form. any mecha show with a female as a main character is a plus in my book. i'd say Rinne no Lagrange fits under the forgotten titles. the only possible reason some otakus remember it is because of the Y...

Re: Do you guys think we will see more sequels of old mecha series?

i in the SRW FB group that there's a show that's kinda related to the machine robo series. the uniforms and chara designs resembles the early 2000s Machine Robo Rescue. there's also that new Mospeada thing. no other news on that aside that it exist. speaking of Machine Robo rescue. anyone here watch...
