I think it was simply a matter of the DX still being registered in the system and thus could still access it. Just because they had manual control doesn't mean they had complete control. The system is programmed to operate that way and I doubt the Frosts' team had time to rewrite the entire program...

Now, who wants to take a guess at what MG102 will be? Just to complete the set, I'd like IJ, but that's just me.
