Re: Ep. 037: The Films of Hayao Miyazaki
Same as Chris, Grave of the Fireflies was my first Ghibli movie (mom rented the VHS for me knowing 'I was into those Japanimation Digimons and whatnot'), and Kiki's Magic Delivery Service was my first Miyazaki film. Of the three I've seen (Lupin III, Kiki's, and Spirited Away), Spirited Away is by f...

Re: Ep. 111 - Yes! Your Majesty!
Couldn't sneak that Wangan Midnight MT3 drop by me, that's my favorite game OST of all time! I remember when Soul Bro first played the music on Gundamn! and I freaked out when he replied saying that it was Wangan Midnight: Maximum Tune 3. I played the second one like crazy and the OST for this game...

Re: Ep. 109 - A Vertical Place of Origin
Local manga store owner was JUST talking about Ed Chavez the other day, and then I'm shocked to find out my favorite podcast had done an interview with him! Everyone should follow his twitter, he's pretty candid about industry stuff. @SoulBroRyu: What the heck is that song at 2:01:00?! The one that ...

Re: Sp. 017 - The Service Games Session
I was about to lose it if nobody mentioned the Del song, but then Soul Bro came through. Here it is for anyone that hasn't heard - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_owLgOBTng Hardcore fighting game fans will know the sample... First time I heard it I was like, "OMG he references Rival Schools l...

Re: Ep. 033: The Works of Satoshi Kon
Well dang! The only Kon work I knew about was Paprika, which I saw a few years back. I never heard the Inception/Paprika comparison, but I had always heard the Paprika/The Cell (w/ Jennifer Lopez) comparison. Did either you or Pedro see The Cell, and draw any comparisons between the two? I doubt it ...

Re: Ep. 032: Mass Effect
Loved ME1, but couldn't get through ME2 for the same reason that Pedro didn't like ME1 as much - it didn't feel as much like an RPG as it did a straight up shooter. I totally get what he meant by it feeling like something is calculating your shots and aiming rather than just being able to aim and sh...

Re: Ep. 031: The Films of Spider-Man
I'll agree that Tobey Maguire is a bit of an uncharismatic dullard of an actor and he really lacked screen presence as Peter coupled with some really awkward dialogue from him. Much as I want to dislike Andrew Garfield for being a pretty boy, he's got much better acting chops. I've listened to Magu...

Re: Ep. 031: The Films of Spider-Man
Great episode, I wasn't aware that the latest Spiderman movie drew ire! I was one of the people complaining about the bio web-shooters from the first film. Not that it hurt the movie in any way, but I was so used to the 90s Spiderman cartoon and how most of the drama was created by Peter running out...

Re: Ep 030: Brave & The Sprawl Trilogy
A while back I found a BBC radio play based on Neuromancer, http://www.sffaudio.com/?p=32178 the production isn't bad though some of the performances were a bit off Armitage, for example tends to sound more like a car salesman than a former soldier and the southern accent is a bit forced, more like...

Re: Ep 030: Brave & The Sprawl Trilogy
I'd be interested to hear your guy's thoughts on the Japanese Brave commercial VS US Brave commercial thing now that you've actually seen the movie. I remember someone was saying there was a big difference in advertising between the two countries, and the trailer really showed it; though from your c...

Re: Official Gundam Games & Upcoming Releases Thread Mk IV
Gah!! G-Unit finally returns to G Generation and it's PSP exclusive?! :( I'm really interested in the addition of Gashapon Senshi though. Hopefully we get some of the unique SD units like Superior Dragon and Command Gundam. Don't see Sangokuden on the list. Am disappoint. If you are a Gundam fan an...

OK, now I really want to play Origins! I was more engrossed listening to your summary of the story of Dragon Age than I was hearing about Torchwood, hahaa. Definitely on my list of must-buys when I get a new console.

Dang, looks like I won't get to play Dragon Age before hearing this episode! (have no idea if my computer can run it - it's very finicky about that type of thing - I'll probably wait until I have an HD console). Really excited for the Sprawl trilogy ep though

Re: Ep. 103 - A Time to Kio
Cybernator sounds great (honestly never heard of it until now), but for pretty much everyone I've ever met, the quintessential SNES mech game is LucasArts' Metal Warriors. 50% of the game is Gundam jacking! edit - I know Captain Anus is probably going to have a development arc, but for such a fast-m...

Oh, and I was totally blown away when Chris gave the recommendation for Baratunde Thurston! I didn't even know he was a comedy writer, I've mostly seen his videos and writing on race relations in the US. I will be getting his book for sure.
