Augusta Research Facility
Still working on the RPG background. ^_^ Is there any information available on the Augusta base and research facility? The amount of coverage in Zeta Gundam is brief, to say the least. The only things I know about it are: 1) it's located in North America; 2) there is a Newtype training/experimentati...

Artificial Gravity on Zeon battleships
The other day I was doing some research towards the next RPG, and I made the observation that the Gwajin and Gwadan class ships have artificial gravity in at least part of their hulls. Nifty...but I was curious how the ships were able to do that. Does anyone know the design features that permit the ...

Re: Gundam Sentinel
This is all perfectly true, but it doesn't have any bearing on the question of "what's official". Nothing says "official recognition" like a Bandai logo on the box, nee? It's not animation, but having the corporation decide to license the stuff seems like its being taken serious...

Re: I'm Interested in Some of the Old Ultra-Violent Anime
Megazone 23 II, although a standard mecha anime, has one very graphic scene in it early one when the aliens attack the Megazone Navy and their tentacle mecha go to work. Then, just for fun, the scene is replayed later as an on-flight recording.

In the original Zeta Gundam story, wasn't Franklin Vidan working on the Gundam Mk III at one point?

Re: Gundam Sentinel
I should say that Gundam Sentinel has gotten a lot of merchandising support & success for an "unofficial" non-animated story. 1/144 NG S Gundam 1/144 NG EX S Gundam 1/144 NG Zeta Plus (I own this one. ^_^) 1/100 MG S Gundam 1/100 MG Zeta Plus 1/144 HGUC S Gundam 1/144 HGUC EX S Gundam ...

Demon City Shinjuku by same people who made Ninja Scroll . Fight! Iczer-One Its sequel Iczer-Three got cleaned up and lost the blood. Violence Jack based on the manga by Go Nagai. The name says it all. Yotoden ninja versus demon, somebody gets splattered at least once per episode. Of course, for ne...

Once again, The Right Stuf finds the good stuff. Something I can look forward to getting this summer. That is, if I don't use up all my $$ filling the gas tank. >_<

Re: The destruction of Dublin (Gundam ZZ)
I can't imagine how you'd be able to brake the descent of a falling colony so that it didn't create a catastrophic explosion. Imagine having Char Aznable send you the magic T-square so you can use it to push the colony away from Earth! No power on Earth can match the power of the human spirit! Twen...

Re: AEUG's Ace units/pilots
I'm not sure if AEUG is so much deprived of aces as having their core force of veteran pilots diluted among an influx of civilian volunteers and EFF defectors who don't have much actual service under fire. Based on the side stories, the AEUG has many skilled pilots, but they are spread thin in the a...

Re: RGZ-95 ReZel and other TMSs: Atmospheric flight
The Asshimar in MA mode is a jet-propelled frisbee, so it is aerodynamic enough. The problem with basing the ReZel on the RE-GZ in terms of atmospheric performance so far, is that it has not appeared in the story as an issue yet. It's fine and dandy that some data rules the RE-GZ out, but no charac...

Re: More One Year War: North American Counteroffensive
Maybe so, but I think you're missing the point of my complaint: It makes the Titans right . :) Actually, what I was stating was that the existence of Zeon Remnants gave the Titans some validity for their conception as an elite counter-insurgency force. From the EFF's general point of view circa 008...

Re: More One Year War: North American Counteroffensive
Or perhaps the notion of the Earth Sphere as being totally infested with huge numbers of Zeon remnants simply wasn't invented until after Zeta Gundam (I think the desert arc in ZZ was the first time we really heard about it). All these retcons, which have the Federation and Titans spending the enti...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk II
Watched #1 about 3.5 times now. Yeah, it's been a long time since there's been a UC Gundam show.... ....but it's been worth the wait! Gundam Unicorn was 100% awesome all the way through! The things that impressed me the most was firstly the story pacing, with story bits coming along at a rapid rate,...

Re: Survival or mass death
There is something to be said for both keeping the death count down, and by ruthlessly culling it to the end. I too will support either little death/bloodbath endings whenever the story seems to call for either one as being suitable. Concerning Gundam in particular over other mecha stories, I tend t...

Re: How to occupied a Colony ? [statregic]
Nobody has yet considered the quick and easy technique used by Mashimar Celo in ZZ #2. A briefcase full of gold bars delivered to an elected/appointed official with few real defensive options can work wonders! It's even better when the offer is part of a plumba y plata offer, although the choi...
