Re: Grypts Conflict - Titans MS Comparative Performance
Galbady Beta was actually used by the Earth Federation Luna II garrison and only after the Titans ask for help did they get this suit in large numbers (think Titans use one in one of the Titan Test Team manga to test a new booster pack or something). The Earth Federation was the one that used some Z...

Re: Watching some old school mecha anime
^ I'm the one who wrote them! :P I am working my way through the bluray now as well (up to episode 29). Still hard to believe the day is here when I have an official US bluray release of Ideon in my hands. I remember when all that was available was raw VHS tapes with no subs. I think while it has s...

Re: How would a medieval battlefield look like with mecha?
Escaflowne, just take out all the Zaibach flying mechs along with transforming into a dragon and all fantasy elements. Just have the mechs (guymelef and melef) and you have a perfect medieval world

Re: The Price of Smiles
So is this show worth watching? Been checking what people are saying and it is pretty meh from what I hear. My hopes were high at the outset, since Tatsunoko Production used to be one of the giants of mecha anime and this was supposed to be one of their anniversary projects... but this show's a tra...

Re: Watching some old school mecha anime
I just got my Ideon bluray from Maiden Japan and as soon as an episode ends I come to MAHQ and read the review of it!!! Surprised that the scores for episodes 1-8 are kind of low even though I really enjoyed them and think the show is pretty solid so far.

Re: Why are Voltron and Power Rangers more mainstream and popular in the West than Gundam and Evangelion?
I guess all of you talked about this already(as i am late to the conversation) but growing up when power rangers came out I can say that it was insanely popular(I was in second grade). I remember people buying the toys all over and since we got a new power ranger series every year it remained a cons...

Re: The Official Gundam The Origin Anime Thread Mk I
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin VI "Rise of the Red Comet" This was by far the best of the origin films. But it still changed the story quite a bit. The whole thing about giving the federation a chance to outright win the war at the battle of Loum (Tianem) was kind of stupid and unnecessary...

Re: Paptimus Scirocco & Jamitov Hymen Ideological Discussion
I also believed that Jamitov just wanted to protect the status quo with the elite of Earth controlling the Federation and for spacenoids to be disenfranchised but when Scirocco tells Jerid that his goals are sort of the same as Zeon it did take be back. Jerid really doesn't care at that revelation, ...

I read that up to episode 15 Trigger did all the fight scenes but the story and everything else was done by A1 Pictures, Trigger didn't have a hand in any of that

this is awesome, I just finished watching the Fafner series and came here to check some of the stats on the mech section but Fafner is missing it(I watched the episodes and then once it is over I come here and read the episode review) Is Fafner THE BEYOND a movie or a new series like Exodus?

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Used to be a pretty big star wars fan back in the late 90s and early to mid 2000s but for some reason I have not been able to connect with the new movies. I liked The Force Awakens and saw it 3 times in the theater but then it just felt like a rehash of the original movies(it was the plan after all)...

Re: New Feature-Length Live-Action Gundam Movie Incoming
So let's discuss this. Any thoughts? Anyone not hyped about this? I've neither forgotten nor forgiven G-Saviour or any of the other western attempts at live-action versions of anime, so no... definitely NOT hyped for this. The American film industry long ago lost touch with basic aspects of its art...
