Re: ID-0

Scarf and everything, seriously. The design of his robot body looks too much like the Exia to be coincidence. And I daresay the actor is Setsuna's very own, or one who sounds near-identical.

Ido is Setsuna's dream. That is all I have to say at the moment.

Re: The Last Jedi

Sounds to me more like dear Nephew was just a Vader fanboy. The canon book Bloodline indicates Ben didn't know his grandfather was Vader until a few years or so before VII... and that presumably things took a bad turn around that time, maybe. Perhaps VIII will know the answers to the questions JJ di...

Re: The Last Jedi

There is also the possibility that Anakin's ghost did not get along well with the people he tried to murder, especially after they insisted he was irredeemable and stuff. And after they watched Luke burn Vader's corpse, something they could all get behind and laugh, commenced immediately after the c...

Re: The Last Jedi

I don't want to call it "gray jedi order". It is more a question of "balance of the Force". The Jedi and Sith became extreme forces very dedicated to Light and Dark side dominant pathways respectively. The prequels make it clear that the Jedi Knights hurt themselves by becoming ...

Re: The Last Jedi

Many thanks, Duel. I am very relieved to hear I am not the only person in the world who thought Rogue One was excellent, and not some kind of trainwreck with Star Wars attached. It was splendid. Hmm... I've continued to hear conflicting reports on Rian's collusion with Travorrow. First thing is that...

Re: The Last Jedi

so i'm not sure how gray a Jedi Luke can really be. and i'm not sure what it means to be a gray Jedi in the new canon anyway. Probably something about not being a self-righteous emotion-denying angst breeding-ground where rigid doctrine is sacred and consequences are ignored like the actual Jedi or...

Re: The Last Jedi

I'm surprised by the hate I'm seeing from people about this. They are already calling it a ESB copy, and complain about any possibility of Greyness in the Force. That would be nice to me, but the trailer alone doesn't guarantee it, just mixes words up to allude to the possibility, which is awfully s...

Re: How can we have another long-running toy franchise?

Yes, it is basic manipulation of our wants and basic desires, giving us an outlet to feed it. I think that's one reason why nudity is used so often now in the hyper-competitive market in Japan. They realize it's becoming a big problem with lasting consequences, I think, but no one's about to stop us...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

I was expecting her to fit into some UC or AU box, but IBO was very much about "this is our own box" so to speak for many things. I was certain Julietta was cute Gundam roadkill like poor Lafter, but she survived & actually learned something about the motive and spirit of people who a...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

I'm very glad to read your post, Zeonista, especially the bit on Julietta. So many hated her and desired her dead, but I was always a fan and was glad to see her survive. She even develops at the end of the story to some extent, and I was pleased with that, if nothing else.

which is especially ridiculous because we all know Snoke is a Char think about it Of course. But we'd like to at least pretend. I for one enjoyed Rogue One more than most appeared to have on here... but I didn't enjoy VII at all, and most of my expectations for Last Jedi are... not too high. ...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

I have a minor quibble on what Areku said. I actually thought the space battles went over relatively well. They're not glorious strategic displays like in Legend of the Galactic Heroes, but they weren't disjointed or lacking in tactical reason.

Re: How can we have another long-running toy franchise?

I was about to mention the Star Wars bit. It's so difficult to escape that I gave up as a kid trying to create my own universes. But Star Wars is fairly unique, as was Gundam. So there's definitely something there about being innovative. My take is that there's spiritual foundations in both. MSG and...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk III

They're basically mobile cockpit guillotines. I can only imagine what a Zanscare soldier would think of seeing them at work. Each time they were used it was for revenge. Most times. And on a note about Bael, I've watched that fight twice over, and McGillis DOES discard one of his swords before charg...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

Rustal, ruthless but practical... Pretty much my initial thoughts. So, this is similar to a Durandel wins ending. Huh. In an odd, way, I don't mind the ending. It came off surprisingly satisfying, despite misgivings I had in the past. Definitely better than AGE or Destiny, so it doesn't fall below ...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

In the end McGillis didn't have a master plan via resurrecting a MA nor betray Tekkadan after all, I don't really understand why there was a lot of speculation McGillis would betray Tekkadan because it doesn't match his actions throughout both seasons, aside from luring Carta towards them in season...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

Edit: has anyone considered that maybe McGillis hired Nobliss to kill Orga? That's what my initial belief was. Nobliss has proven he likes to dip in everything if he can get half a chance. It wouldn't surprise me if McGillis used his Montag connections to get in touch with him and inform him of whe...
