Re: How powerful is Mazinger Z's Rust Hurricane anyway?
Mazinger is pretty much THE defining example of the Super Robot genre so... you're probably not gonna get details and they're not going to be particularly meaningful even if they did exist. It's like Star Trek and questions about how various bits of technobabble work: They work just fine, thanks for...

Re: Question regarding Heavy Metals
as the title says, I'm curious... how do the mecha of L-Gaim work? If you mean 'how are they powered', the answer is sunlight. Heavy Metals are armored with something called... Genepla I think they called it. It's able to absorb solar energy that can power the unit. some of the more advanced units ...

Ummmm, looking very quickly the Japanese wikipedia article on Code Geass mecha has stats and the Fandom wiki has more (and in English besides if you can't read Japanese).

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread
"a 'hard' magic system or a 'soft' one" how does this go? like in Mahouka/ irregular in magic high school? Seto Kaiba pretty much nailed this one. Hard magic may break physics as we understand them but it follows its own laws, these laws are discoverable via observation/experimentation an...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread
I'll let the experts answer the tech questions in detail. also, anyone got an opinion on the Tech based VS magic based teleportation/FTL? one idea for my fanfics is that both method are viable and usage would just defend on the individual. Literally unanswerable question, since there are a practical...

Re: The Official Gundam Hathaway Mecha Thread Mk I
Well... the main poster for the 1st movie also gives a indication too. The one on the website? It's officially identified as a 'teaser visual', not the final poster. Meanwhile the Xi is displayed in the gallery as the image from when the project was first announced right alongside footage from the ...

Re: The Official Gundam Hathaway Mecha Thread Mk I
Yeah, I'd be surprised if there isn't some sort of in medias res opening showing the Xi and playing the rest as a 'how we got here' retelling, or some other way of getting it into the first film. Gotta get it in there so they can boost the sale of merch...

Re: What kind of labour work could an 18m MS do?
We don't see any MS in IBO that were intended for labour-use and include the AV system (that I recall) but we know that some MS are meant primarily for construction work (the Spinner Rodi) and those can in theory be fitted with an AV interface and the very fact that the AV-equipped machines used by ...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread
I imagine you could have a story in Macross that focused mainly on Destroids but you'd have to write the entire setting around it, since they're so outclassed by variable fighters even despite the costs that they just aren't viable in most situations and as mentioned they were originally designed fo...

Re: Gravitational Sensors
Yeah, they probably work along the LIGO concept or similar, passively detecting gravitational waves as an alternative to other kinds of sensors that use active emissions to detect objects. Pretty common sci-fi concept from long before the first actual detection of gravitational waves.

Re: Would you prefer more missiles or shoulder-mounted cannons?
Really depends on what the average pilot is going to be doing. Generally it seems that machines with over-the-shoulder cannons are intended to provide fire support while backed up by other suits that aren't burdened with additional heavy weapons. Operating solo, I wouldn't want those cannons if ther...

Re: Gundam Wing: No Mobile Amours?
Neo-Japan had a MA in the Fantoma. Offhand I can't think of any Mobile Armors in Wing, unless you count the Scorpio which starts in MA-form and then undergoes a one-way transition into MS-form.

Hey Freighttrain, since you don't seem to have figured it out yet, this board doesn't use the @ feature to notify users, learn to use the quote tags instead. Re: Realistic Mobile Weapon Classification Systems
Just looking for a reply from ShadowCell about whether or not he was referring to the square-cube law when he mentioned physics. I think you meant me, since I'm the one that said that. Yes, I was referring to square-cube. You haven't answered my question about whether or not you understand how dens...

Oh don't worry, this next one will even have pictures and ancient Greece too. This, and you have to ask why there's some question as to whether you're trolling the board? Those aren't fan-fictions, those are my projections of how real militaries would classify such vehicles and I decided to use the...

Re: Gelgoog Jaeger/Marine question
That's... a really good question actually. There's some lineart that you can find on the Gundam Wiki page for the suit which looks like it might describe where the Gelgoog Marine stores its sabers but I can't make out what it says.

Re: Realistic Mobile Weapon Classification Systems
The fact that we're having this discussion at all should be a clue that nobody else thinks your classification system is an improvement on what already exists and you're just adding confusing new terms that nobody in-universe uses . Hell, it's not even used in the real world in the way you're doing ...

Re: Realistic Mobile Weapon Classification Systems
The only one causing confusion here is you, by creating a classification system from nothing which even the in-universe organizations don't do, including literally making words up in order to do it. I tried looking up 'Brachiochelate' and the only place on the internet Google could find with it was ...
