Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV
He lives. HE LIVES! Idiok Kujan cheats death again, with STYLE! Dear Lord, but don't know whether to root for him anymore, or to wish upon him a greater death. At least he was willing to throw his life away rather than let some nameless grunt take the Bael's swords. In a way, it's nice that he at le...

True, but highlights the fact that Bandai prefers we pick and choose what we like to believe.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV
Nice as those manuals are, they aren't really official unless they're in anime, and we have no 100% guarantee info given by characters is totally irrefutably true. For all we know there was a LOT more complexity behind the Calamity War than what we know. Most likely the manuals are there to fill in ...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV
I didn't find Ribbons interesting. In fact, Rustal is more intriguing to me than Ribonz-kun. So interesting villains are a relative thing. Evil charisma is in the eye of the beholder, or the beheaded, who likely would have a heftier appreciative hate for the guys that did them in.

I could easily see gravity fields containing or compressing a bunch of particles or whatever glowing pink death is supposed to constitute. It could also be possible GPD is oh so beamable and that no containment is necessary, as launching itself in a directed line is just its natural tendency.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV
Watch there be a shopping episode with Mika getting dragged along to look at pregnancy-friendly dresses with Atra and Kudelia, with maybe even a Kudelia impersonator with bad Engrish thrown into the mix. Understood the reference, but would be ok if Atra gets offed by a random dude in the process, c...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk III
What I find interesting is that Eugene has basically surpassed Orga. He took the lead during the fleet engagements and basically told Orga they weren't just going to turn tail and skedaddle, or something of the like. I should rewatch the scene, but it was interesting. So far, He has actually accompl...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk III
Somehow I think the Mars Branch director allowed McGillis' men to go free while he went into hiding with Tekkadan, sort of like what Orga wanted from Rustal and was denied, only in McGillis' case he had the favor to call in, apparently. That's what I assume. He does leave his ship (what is that clas...

Re: [Interview] - The Case for Gundam F91 - Settling Rumors
Would have been nice if we got the full fifty episodes of a TV series. Crossbone might very well have been given in some form or other. With the success of Gundam so far at the time (or was it?) I'm surprised they didn't go forward with a TV series. What was the cause of the deadline for bringing a ...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk III
I'm just waiting for McGillis to extend his hands and say "rise, Angelic Hosts. The True Gjallarhorn has use for you once again". Truth be told, I doubt this will happen. It would be a glorious and horrific twist, because of the level of deception it would represent. Perhaps it's something...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk III
This episode shows that even if Tekkadan didn't ally themselves with McGillis, Rustal would still wipe them out. They were a thorn to his side since the Dort Colony incident in season 1, and the Edmonton conflict was a major embarrassment to the organization. He was out for Tekkadan's blood even be...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk III
The only valid comparisons I see with Reinhard and McGilis is that both wanted to topple their respective governments/organizations and had blonde hair. In no way is Reinhard's personality parallel to Macky's, the opposite if anything. If not for Oberstein, he might have had no real skeletons in his...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk III
I think Rustal is proving more and more interesting from my standpoint. Originally I thought of him as a bland, uninteresting mustache twirler. And he is still a mustache twirler. He's also proving to be one magnificent bastard, outsmarting his enemies at every turn. In a lot of ways, my personal be...

I could go for that. But only if it means Idiok dies. It's a not a happy ending unless he goes.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk II
Given the clues from this episode, the silhouette is likely a rebuilt Flaurios intended for Julietta. Considering her admiration of Gaelio/Vidar, it makes sense that she'd utilize left-over equipment. And I could not be more thrilled. It will probably hit me so hard in the mecha fan bolts tha...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk III
I'm not sure how or why you and others have taken "victory coming at an extremely high cost" to mean that the body count was high. I was actually referring to SEED in how it still had a high body count in the end, despite it being mostly characters you didn't miss. I for one did miss Rau,...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk III
Bodies are bodies. It doesn't matter if a character is liked or not, it still counts in the tally, as popularity is subjective to the viewer. I happened to not give one whiff for most of the LM, and considering the Shrikes dropped like flies throughout the story, I only really felt myself sorry to s...
