Re: Gaza A, Gaza M, Zaku III Recon Type & More From Advance Of Zeta Reboot
Contrary to what the profiles of the Doven Wolf and Zaku III claim, there are several indications that the base AMX-011 was deployed much earlier than the Doven Wolf, supposedly being developed at the same time as the Dreissen, both being based in older Zeon models in order to speed up their develop...

Gaza A, Gaza M, Zaku III Recon Type & More From Advance Of Zeta Reboot
After being teased a few volumes ago with its torso, we are finally introduced to the Gaza A in Advance of Z Reboot: http://hobby.dengeki.com/aoz/illust/reboot12/ Also, the Gaza C gets a marine variant, the AMX-003M Gaza M, which seems to have a lot in common with AMX-008M from previous volumes. Mov...

Re: The Official Gundam Thunderbolt Anime Thread Mk I
I've I've a love hatred relationship with Gundam Thunderbolt: -I really liked the first episode, as well as many of the redesigned MS. -Things went downhill on episode (well technically the very end of ep 1) once we Io gets a Gundam so overpowered that it makes the ZZ Gundam feel underpowered. -Ep 3...

Re: Neo Zeon MS use by EFSF? (Also, Hyaku Shiki question)
Using Zaku frames (and later Hizack frames) for reducing costs and streaming mass production does sound like a sound reason. For what matters, we don't really see the EF using much non-Zaku units (including the Gouf series) such as the Dom and Gelgoog series, aside from captured units or designs lik...

Re: Mysterious Alloy - Universal Duralumin and Zeonium
That's an interesting theory, and likely the case though most likely for a fictional equivalent. I guess I was hoping that there do was a more specific mention of the element/resource in question. For instance, a key resource for manufacturing luna titanium alloy/gundarium or for the research that w...

Re: The Musai's Anti-Air Missile Launchers
Unlike the Musai FPT, from which we see somewhere along 3 dozen ships in the 0083 OVAS among the Delaz, Cima and Axis fleets, we only see 3 Musai LPTs, including the one seeing being evicted form Side 6 in the news. Same could be said about the Graf Zeppelin being the only official Tivvay class ship...

Re: Zaku The Origin
Out of curiosity, how many YMS-03 units are the Y-02 team using for their training? Perhaps the issue could be the high cost of the Bugu, which makes producing multiple units for combat training undesirable/unfeasible and thus the YMS-03 provides a more economical alternative. Perhaps another way to...

Re: A Few Questions On The Dolos Class
Let's not forget that in the original TV series, the earliest glimpse we get of the Dolos is at Granada, from where it takes off towards A Baoa Qu. This do would suggest that it accommodates it's MS vertically in order to operate while under the influence of gravity. Although, this does make me wond...

Re: OYW MS questions
The mono-eye itself could just be replaced with a better suited one and use the same camera rail. After all, in MS Igloo we saw how even things like the OP-02C also use mono-eyes, so there should be plenty of specialized types that also use rails. That being said, the MSM-07 Z'gok series in particul...

Re: A Few Questions On The Dolos Class
Well, the Origin and Thunderbolt both seem to think of the Dolos class as a giant mobile fortress, with the former housing Musais and the later Jukon class submarines. Needless to say, this would be on a completely different league from the 492m long MS carrier we know, with The Origin version said ...

Re: Was Zeon Mining Titanium At Odessa?
Very interesting info! I agree that there could be other factors that could have influenced Zeon not to use Titanium for their MS armor material, however I would like to think that in a different context the armor material would have been something that sounded reasonable at the time in IRL. For ins...

Re: RCX-76 Guncannon: Why did it suck so bad?
These things were in my mind when I mentioned the lack of expertise in a training squadron filled with experienced pilots. Scarlet Team might also have been relatively inexperienced in real battle use of MS, despite the quality issue MS. I will cut them some slack, though. The Kampfer was an unknown...

Re: OYW MS questions
Zeon's amphibious mobile suits used open-cycle water-cooled reactors (ie, they just ran seawater through the system to cool it down, then dumped the now-heated seawater out behind them), which is what allowed them to make the reactor strong enough to power beam weapons without e-caps. But it also m...

Re: OYW Ship Hull Designation Explained
By the way, the Papua was originally classified as a Missile Cruiser. However, while I could see CCM being applied in such case, I don't think that the Zanzibar or the Chivvay (assuming CCM-54 is indeed a Chivvay) fit the same designation. On the other hand, while the Chivvay is indeed classified as...

A Few Questions On The Dolos Class
I was checking in the gundam wikia the article about A Baoa Qu and saw this image: http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/gundam/images/6/6f/A_Baoa_Qu.png/revision/latest?cb=20141214225401 If I'm not mistaken, it's form the last Unicorn OVA. The interesting part is that you can actually see the shadows...

Re: The Musai's Anti-Air Missile Launchers
I guess this is a similar case to the rule of the dumb we have come up with regarding Gryps era warships being able to store 50% more MS than their standard capacity, if they situation requires it. the best example is the Salamis Kai, which is meant to carry 4 MS, yet it can operate with 6 if needed...

Re: Was Zeon Mining Titanium At Odessa?
In such case, the real question might be: when did Zeon gained access to those Titanium sources? I tried finding the dates when Zeon captured Granada, Solomon, Pezun and A Baoa Qu, but haven't had any luck so far. Assuming these were captured just before or during the opening days of the war, it cou...

Re: OYW MS questions
The MS at Tigerbaum were there mainly for decorative purposes. It's unknown exactly how they came to get there though, whether they were samples sent back to the Zeon homeland during the OYW or some sort of collector's item brought after the OYW. I would assume that without modification they would b...

OYW Ship Hull Designation Explained
I recently found an interesting site with the explanation for many types of USN ship designations, which actually goes into great detail to explain the many classifications: http://www.navweaps.com/index_tech/index_ships_list.php This reminded me that many Zeon ships use the same (or at least simila...

Re: The Musai's Anti-Air Missile Launchers
About the 0080 final type Musai, I think it started as a drawing error in MSG, where some background Musai only has 2 main gun turrets. The current explanation for this seems to be that there have been Musais that are modified to be more agile and fit the Mobile Cruiser position and another type re...
