Re: Dark Duel's Shop-Fu and assorted artsy stuff

So I finished a batch of Kimaris recolors I started working on a while back First set shows all four with Vidar and KT recolored to match the first two: https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/605/33082037892_c29abc6fc1_b.jpg Second set shows the three Kimaris recolored to match Vidar: https://c2.staticflickr...

Re: The Official Gundam The Origin Mecha Thread Mk I

Not in the original Origin manga.
Only the RX-78-01(which is destroyed at Side 7) and RX-78-02(which is the one Amuro ends up in) appears in The Origin itself. I dunno about side materials though.

Re: The Last Jedi

Prior to Rogue One , which I thought was excellent, I had never actually heard the name Rian Johnson before, or at least I did not recall it. However, I have seen two movies he wrote and directed: 2012's Looper and 2008's The Brothers Bloom . And I thought both - especially the latter - were excelle...

Re: Dark Duel's Shop-Fu and assorted artsy stuff

Pretty light armament - a pair of swords and a long-range rifle, plus one or two supplemental weapons integrated into the frame. It's designed mainly as a fast and agile mid-to-close-range fighter, and is also intended to be capable of unassisted atmospheric flight. By the way, I also did quick-and-...

Re: Dark Duel's Shop-Fu and assorted artsy stuff

So I decided to revisit the Falke Graze a bit to tweak the Ground Type's equipment, and at the same time I experimented with other color schemes a bit as opposed to keeping the same colors as McDoofus's Schwalbe/Ritter. Anyway, first I have a pic of both the Space Type and Ground Type in Rollout col...

which is especially ridiculous because we all know Snoke is a Char

think about it
I think my favorite theory on the subject is the one that posits that Snoke is that one random Storm Trooper who smacked his head into the door frame that one time in one of the old movies :P

Re: Pilot curriculum

I should comment that for all its flaws, AGE is probably one of the least egregious examples of Insta-skill in the franchise, and of the three Flit is perhaps the least excusable...and he's not only the Amuro, he is simultaneously that Verse's Amuro AND Tem Ray in that he was directly involved in de...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk III

One other thing you have to remember as well is that Gjallarhorn outlawed the use of the Dáinsleif following the end of the Calamity War. I would guess that until Idiok's forces used it against the Turbines, a Dáinsleif had not been fired in over three hundred years* (*Technically, there's the examp...

Re: The Official Gundam Twilight AXIS Mecha Thread Mk I

"Something else entirely" would be it. The Gundam Tristan is not fielded by Neo-Zeon, based on what I've been able to learn about the novel. It, along with the Byarlant Isolde and an as-yet-unknown custom RGM-89 Jegan variant, are deployed by another faction, bankrolled by the Ronah family. Yes, tha...

Yeah, that's not surprising at all.
It's just like with Bright Noa - after Hirotaka Suzuoki passed away, they recast Bright for Unicorn.

Re: The Official Gundam Twilight AXIS Anime Thread Mk I

Heh. In this case, from what I've found out, we are told precisely what the individual in question was thinking when she commissioned the creation of that particular mobile suit...or more to the point, who she was thinking of. Of course, that's just background info and not directly relevant to the e...

Re: The Official Gundam Twilight AXIS Mecha Thread Mk I

Not the Tristan AFAIK. But the novel all but outright states she personally commissioned the creation of that Zaku III specifically for Char's personal use - though he never did use it.

Re: The Official Gundam Twilight AXIS Anime Thread Mk I

I wouldn't get your hopes up on that score just yet. From what I've been able to find out, Arlette doesn't even pilot at all, and Danton seems to only pilot ex-NZ mobile suits. Still, the possibility IS there, it's just a bit remote. That being said, having looked into...sources for a bit more infor...

Re: Pilot curriculum

You forget to mention that Gundam pilots are actually expected to fight in both indo- and exo-atmospheric conditions, which are two environments with completely different play rules. Absolutely correct, and thank you for pointing that out. Most mobile suits, even the ones that are capable of operat...

Re: The Official Gundam Twilight AXIS Mecha Thread Mk I

Its shield looks very GP01-like, in my opinion. It really does seem to be a mish-mash of different elements from pretty much the entirety of the development history of the RX-78 line from 0079 to 0088, all distilled into a single mobile suit. And by golly, I like it! Though on the subject, I did a l...

Re: Pilot curriculum

Think of a modern combat pilot training program, how much you have to go through before they'll even let you behind the stick of even a training aircraft on your own - the academic and theoretical instruction, the physicals, the tests, the simulator training, survival courses, and of course the mili...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk III

To me it seemed like the pseudo-AV had all the advantages of the AV (to the end user) and none of the drawbacks (surgery, risk of losing bodily functions) I would personally expect that at least some degree of surgical modification was necessary, as the first time it is activated we see that the sy...

Re: The Official Gundam Twilight AXIS Mecha Thread Mk I

Okay, so I rewatched the teaser again on a decent-sized screen instead of on my obsolete iPod touch. And I recall reading elsewhere a listing for a "Byarlant Isolde" apparently being featured in Twilight Axis. Now, I know nothing about the series/novel beyond what little I gleaned from Gundam Wiki a...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk IV

Between the massive external damage to the Flauros's body and armor and the fact that in order for Julietta to use it would also require a refit of its cockpit block and control systems to remove the AV System, I think we've seen the last of it. It seems far likelier to me that the Reginlaze J would...
