Re: Does the destiny silhouette use Voiture Lumiere System?

The original doesn't, but IIRC wasn't there a MG kit released of a Destiny Impulse variant from some other side story or something? I seem to recall there was, and it looked nearly identical to the original MSV except it used the same wings as Destiny Gundam rather than the MSV version's bulkier one...

Re: GUNDAM BUILD FIGHTERS : BATTLOGUE/GM's Counterattack

So I watched it...and I'm not sure how I feel about it. It's kinda goofy, very funny, but it didn't really feel like Gundam to me. Though given the direction they went with in the story, it makes perfect sense. And the whole gimmick with Super Fumina and Hyper Gyanko combining reminded me of DNA Dig...

Re: The Lost Hollywood Gundam Movie

As a low-budget B-movie, G-Saviour was decent, and the mech designs are pretty great IMO. As a Gundam movie, it was terrible. Though I was told by a friend who had it that the PS G-Saviour game was pretty awesome. As for this movie...I dunno. Sounds interesting in theory, but I have a problem with m...

Re: Skycrapers in Space Colonies

To the best of my recollection (admittedly, it has been a number of years since I watched anything UC Gundam, where O'Neill I-3 cylinders are most prevalent), the buildings inside of colonies are rarely very tall. I certainly do not remember ever having seen any skyscrapers, for instance, inside of ...

I don't know if I want to watch this one, but reading the posts on here, I might just check it out - purely for the inevitable laughs.

Re: The Official Gundam Twilight AXIS Anime Thread Mk I

Unclear, AFAIK. Twilight Axis is said to take place, from what I have found out, in late UC 0096. Unicorn is also stated to begin in UC 0096, but I don't know if a specific date was ever provided for either work. It could be after, or it could be taking place at approximately the same time.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk III

No, AFAIK there was no explanation for what those were. The same symbol as on the original Barbatos(which was red) also appears on Bael's shoulders and inside its cockpit(on the control sticks). IIRC that same triangular icon also appeared on Hashmal too, during its rampage. Lupus and Rex had a diff...

Re: Gundam Lore: Why Jerid, Kacricon and Emma Were the Gundam MK.II Pilots

Well, to be perfectly fair, Kamille is right: it IS a unisex name in French - spelled "Camille", so it is a perfectly fine name for a boy - if uncommon. On the other hand, in Jerid's defense "Camille" used pretty much exclusively as a girl's name everywhere else, though some languages such as Italia...

Re: Mobile Suit Moon Gundam Manga

A Gundamized Sazabi? Really? That's the best they could come up with? Granted, IIRC Anaheim Electronics was involved in the Sazabi's construction, but giving it the Gerbera treatment seems kinda lazy. All in all, I'm not impressed by what I'm seeing here so far. Of course I am thoroughly sick and ti...

Re: Can Space Colonisation discourage war?

The short answer is no. 00 is another good example, in a way. I mean, setting aside the excessively optimistic QBW/Innovator shenanigans from the end of the movie, it was stated that a big part of Aeolia Schenberg's long-term goal was to prevent humanity from taking the seeds of war with them into s...

The GP series IIRC were developed at Von Braun except the GP03, which was developed at La Vie en Rose. MInd you I haven't watched 0083 in years so I'm going off memory.

The in-universe reason for Braw Bro is that it can also be used by OT pilots, so it is wired in case they really need to use OTs. Same reason for Zeong, that is also the reason why it has 2 cockpits.(So one pilot can focus on using the remote weapons)
Really? I did not know that. Thanks.

Re: Effect of beam weapon on electrical system

A fun thing is, in 08th MS Team, the Gouf B-3 somehow did managed to damage the Gundam Ground type enough so Shiro needed to change the computer board in mid combat. True. But as E08 pointed out, he did so using a weapon that was explicitly designed to do exactly that via application of an electric...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

Well, I'm going off my memory of what I've read about the real-life aircraft in question here, but the first reason why the F-14 was chosen and not the F/A-18 or the F-22 or -35 has to do with timing. IIRC, the original SDF Macross, which first featured the VF-1, was first released, IIRC, in around ...

Re: How fast can the Newtype brainwave be?

Speaking of which, was there ever an in-universe established reason for why the remote weapons of OYW-era Newtype-use machines such as the Braw Bro and Zeong were wire-guided rather than controlled wirelessly via the psycommu system like the Elmeth's Bits or the Funnels of the Qubeley and subsequent...

Re: Knight's & Magic

So, a week late, but I finally watched last week's episode, and... I liked the fighting this episode, but the fact that this new enemy faction is just monolithically and almost cartoonishly evil makes them a little hard to take seriously. Yeah, I completely agree. It's pretty impossible to take thes...

Re: The Official Gundam Twilight AXIS Mecha Thread Mk I

On the official Youtube release, at 2:26 on the video, you see what seems to be a reflection of a purple Jegan holding some manner of weird beam weapon that I'm totally unfamiliar with. Anyone have any clue as to what that thing is holding? According to this page from the Premium Bandai website, th...

IIRC, in his very first sortie, Max vastly outflew the veteran Hikaru in the original series, despite the latter's experience. And he only got better after that.
So they were VERY good.

That would be cool. mine would be the moon moon thing from ZZ. maybe it will feature a Tuxedo Kamen like character. and he'll be the resident char clone. :D Oh my God, that would be HILARIOUS. I just got this mental picture now of Char running around wearing his OYW-era mask(without the helmet) and ...

Re: Knight's & Magic

Man, I really need to get caught up on this, I still haven't watched the last episode. Personally, so far the pacing hasn't really bothered me much, though it does move really quickly through timeskips and I have a bit of a hard time with the fact that Ernesti and the kids haven't visually grown in ...
