Re: Is there anyway to any rationality in transformers?

Have anyone hear talk about mecha which seems to works primarily in plane mode instead of bipedal mode? I think that it is a much more plausible situation, with the bipedal mode only called when a particular complex task appears. For example, the new Methuss X-1 from the Anaheim Laboratory Log seems...

Re: The Official Gundam Thunderbolt Anime Thread Mk I

The whole "Newtype mind-control Oldtypes" makes me want to ask these two questions: I just want to ask one question, where is that come from? I just can't remember. I remember that in the manga, in so far it has been hinted that the reason why that monk guy from South Seas Alliance could seduce so ...

Re: The Official Gundam Thunderbolt Anime Thread Mk I

The whole "Newtype mind-control Oldtypes" makes me want to ask these two questions: 1. Are Oldtypes really justified in fearing and hating Newtypes? 2. How does the normal Federation citizen think of Newtypes? Or are they even aware of their existent? Also, the scene where Bianca uses her rifle is k...

Re: Where will one-off designs end-up?

First some quick notes on the Hyaku Shiki and Zeta Gundam: -The Hyaku Shiki from ZZ is said to be a second unit. -We know that at least one more identical Zeta Gundam was built for Amuro, and supposedly two minor variants were built for Gray Wolf and Red Snake as seen in Gundam Evolve. My point is ...

I too don't know why did I skip it.

In Vietnam, each year there are one or two new merchandise-driven anime coming from China and Korea, so I guess the competition there is pretty hard?

...really? That seem against common sense.

Where will one-off designs end-up?

So, I was just reading about the Pale Rider DII when I have this idea: Where will most one-off (Gundam), custom, and limited production MS will end up at? I mean, sure, an MS frame could re-used again and again as a test bed for new technology, but I'm talking about MS that have seen combat. There w...

Re: How can we have another long-running toy franchise?

I would say the main obstacle with a new toy franchise, is enough children and teens to purchase said toys to make it a hit. Japan's population demographics make this rather dubious from a commercial standpoint. We're talking stuff under the 20,000 yen mark here. Not just toys (which includes figur...

Re: New Blue Destiny manga to run in Gundam Ace

Anyone here think that there is a "genetic legacy" in U.C MS designs in spin-offs manga nowadays? If you look closer, you could see there is something really similar between newer designs such as the Zero Shiki, the Pale Rider, and the GM Dominance (for example, the bigger thruster mounted on the si...

Re: Pilot curriculum

Well, computer assist and more computer assist. At least in UC, AE manufactured military MS has pretty much the same controls as small worker bots like the MMS and JMS manufactured by AE. Convinient, isn't it? I assume you can always decrease the assistance rendered by the computer, but almost anyo...

Re: The Official Gundam The Origin Mecha Thread Mk I

Has the Gundam Ground Type ever been shown in Origin timeline (in the manga)? I remember reading somewhere that the Gundam Local Type, which itself is made of spare parts, contribute in the development of the Ground Type. But how? Like "The Local Type give the EFF knowledge on how to put up units fr...

Mecha Musume discussion thread

We discuss about the various Mecha Musume series here, from the classic MS Girl to modern lines such as Busou Shinki, Frame Arms Girl, etc. Including anime and light novel like Strike Witches, Infinite Stratos, Hundred, etc. So, let me started by saying that Mecha Musume designs are in stagnant righ...

Re: The Official Gundam Thunderbolt Anime Thread Mk I

How does anyone here think of the scene between the golden-trimmed Zaku (Royal Guard?) and the GM at the beginning of the episode? I just don't understand why didn't the Zaku pilot make a conscious retreat to the nearest cover - standing right there and shooting at an enemy you know your bullet won'...

Re: How can we have another long-running toy franchise?

...You somehow include Eva (1994) but neither Zoids (1982) nor Super Sentai (1975). Especially Zoids, which mostly rely on toys themselves instead of lets anime driving them. May be you should start by give definition of "long-running toy franchise". Thanks for reminding me about that. In Vietnam, ...

Say, if the Megaroad-01 is found, then how old would Misa, Hikaru, and Minmay be? I'd rather not see wrinkles on their face.

Also on the matter, how do you think of the improvements human have made with the Macross-class?

How can we have another long-running toy franchise?

Ok, I've to get this out of my chest first: Merchandises decide wether a mecha series will at least have a legacy or not. Think of Macross, Gundam, and Evangelion. With that said, how can a studio success in making a show that would launch a new toy franchise? Good storyline, good visual, good chara...

Re: Gaza A, Gaza M, Zaku III Recon Type & More From Advance Of Zeta Reboot

After being teased a few volumes ago with its torso, we are finally introduced to the Gaza A in Advance of Z Reboot: http://hobby.dengeki.com/aoz/illust/reboot12/ Also, the Gaza C gets a marine variant, the AMX-003M Gaza M, which seems to have a lot in common with AMX-008M from previous volumes. Mo...
