Re: Different models of shield during and after OYW.

A recent scan from Anaheim Log (https://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/gu ... 0627041502) shows that the GM Type C can use the Nemo's shield. So it seems that logistic factors more than the overall design when it comes to shield.

Re: The Official Gundam Twilight AXIS Anime Thread Mk I

Would Twilight AXIS be better as a feature film? I mean, the original source novel is neither long nor complicated enough for the story to be sliced into multiple episodes like this.

(Also, Sunrise and Bandai should look for more talented writers to write their spin-offs.)

Re: The Official Gundam Thunderbolt Mecha Thread Mk I

By the way, did you meant MA-04X instead of MAM-04 (whose model number would indicate it to be a marine MA like the MAM-07 Grublo)? Yeah, you're right, I typed it wrong. An MA-04X that is (Zeon gives consequence number to all mobile armor, regardless whether it is a space-use, a marine-use, or a Ne...

Re: The Official Gundam Twilight AXIS Anime Thread Mk I

Do you think that maybe, just maybe we will find the corpses of Char and Amuro? Or finally be able to know who retrieved the data from the Sazabi so as to create Full Frontal? I'm actually more interesting in how will they deal with the who Bunch Concern and Crossbone Vanguard thing. I've always has...

Re: The Official Gundam Thunderbolt Mecha Thread Mk I

-The pilot from the first Elmeth unit, which is said to have lost control and destroyed itself with its own bits. LOL what? Never heard that one before. The only Elmeth I'd known about prior to reading the novels(which I just finished a couple of nights ago) was the one Lalah piloted. Wait, where d...

Re: Which series has "cornerstone" mecha designs?

So,I've pretty much done with the Gundam-esque faction and now moving to other factions. On the table is the plan for one which consists of insect-like creatures controlled by hive minds. I've got Warhamemr 40k, Aliens, and Starship Trooper for my inspiration, but is there any anime which shows mech...

Re: Is there anyway to any rationality in transformers?

Can we talk about the real-life reason of Transformable MS? I know that by the time of Zeta, Macross had made a name for it. But what really pushed Tomino and his team to come up with the concept of Transformable MS?

Different models of shield during and after OYW.

So, I notice that the Gundam and the standard GM are mainly depicted with that one-piece looking, flat red shields. But then there the GM variants (like the GM Command), all of which belonged to the later part of the war, using a convex shield with two prongs at the bottom (possibly taking inspirati...

So, the Tristan (and by extension, Nu Gundam) has a built-in generator within its own rifle.

Also, when did Buch Junk (maker of Crossbone Vanguard's MS) become "Buch Junk Inc.,"?

Re: Another Nod At The MS-14JG & RMS-117(MS-17B) Siblings

No, the Gyan and Gelgoog were the ones competing, and the Gelgoog won. The Galbaldy Alpha is said to be the result of producing Gelgoog's on Gyan production lines, which are no longer going to mass produce Gyans. However, even before that Zeon had begun enforcing the UMP in order to standardize the...

Re: Which series has "cornerstone" mecha designs?

Escaflowne isn't really iconic, but its design is different. Unlike Mechander Robo, a typical 70's Super Robot design and Macross II/Southern Cross, extension of Macross VF designs. At least I can't really think of anything with a similar design that predates it. I forgot about Rayearth, but I gues...

Re: Another Nod At The MS-14JG & RMS-117(MS-17B) Siblings

That things about beam rifles makes me want to ask this question: When did Zeon begin to field beam rifles which are powered by E-Pacs? I haven't got time to check back the original series, but Char's Gelgoog showed up around November, right? And it also begs this question: spin-off manga taking pla...

The Galbady Alpha and the Gelgoog competed to become Zeon's next front-line MS, right? So how did data regarding each of these machine was leaked and influenced their opponents?

Re: Why do MS eyes glow?

You are correct, the main sensor is the crown part and the "eyes" are just secondary/supporting sensors(called "dual camera"). All you need to check is the MG manual of RX-78-2 (MG01), if you do not have a copy, dalong.net has one. You mean the little square that is on top of the Gundam and the GM'...

Re: Which series has "cornerstone" mecha designs?

But before going into detail, you may get some ideas from how SRW balance their game. In the older days, Real VS Super in SRW isn't really the genre of Real Robots and Super Robots we talked about today. The terms was first used in the 4th installation, giving a loose definition for the robots. You...

So, what are your are your thought about the early-UC and late-UC spin-off manga?

As a fan, seeing the setting I love being expanded is great. And I love the idea of authors trying to experiment with new ideas instead of pre-existing framework. For now, the quality of spin-off manga set in the U.C timeline is highly polished and well thought. Most of them, anyway. I want to speci...

Re: Haman's Obsession and Axis/Neo Zeon's Newtype Drought

If you think about it, all of the Newtype research Zeon had amassed during OYW had all been taken away by the Federation (Augusta lab, their Cyber Newtypes, etc.) The Char's Deleted Affair manga shows that not many scientists made it to Axis. Could this have contributed to the lack of Newtype being ...
