Re: Mobiusdiablo's Mecha R&D Department
Mechanically sound but you need to explore proportions and posing. Your poses look boxy and static and to be quite honest, I don't like them. The machines themselves are far too focused on lots of spikey little protrusions instead of having a distinct and noteworthy outer profile. Generally, it help...

Thought you might like this: http://imgur.com/a/qvRba Also um... I always thought it'd be cool if the disc units on Wing's shoulders were defensors. Fit another pair to each leg either side of each calf (making 8 total if you include the legs and the shoulders) and then have the featherlets on the w...

Re: Doodling General discussion, lol
Also I cleaned up the superplane a little bit, (it's the same link) and added a front view to give a better idea of what the silhouette looks like if you're up to the idea of making SketchUp model. I also added a scaled (180 cm) pilot for size comparison. Nice but aerodynamically unsound. You've go...

Re: Turinu's Design Compendium - 5/26/12 - Action Poses!
You seem to have this huge focus on close combat. Is there any particular reason? What would be good from a design perspective (and really fun to do) would be to sit and watch how people actually use swords and the way their bodies move and adjust the proportions and emulated muscle-groups (joints) ...

Re: Osaka's doodling
Most of what I do is explore new ideas. I very rarely polish any of it off.
What I really want is someone to bounce ideas off and have a discussion with since that's how I work best. IRC or something like that would be perfect.

Current version of the Rhys 1 2 3 4 Some of the early concept art: Frame 1 Frame 2 Okay, so... From here, I'm unsure where to take the aesthetic or what to do with it in terms of detailing. At the moment, I'm working on its hands (instead of using a placeholder) which will be compactable and symmetr...

Controller/cockpit design experiments: Fig i Directional Input: Rather than using directional analogue sticks which are in common use, even now, the choice was made to go with stationary resistance sticks, like those used in fighter-jets. While they don’t actually move, they measure pressure applied...

2012 Work New Torso, from scratch: front | back From log: ... The cockpit is going to be a detachable part from the exterior, like a smaller simplified power-armour of its own with a power-loader kinda vibe. Note the chest parts - those are going to be arms that fold down, like the Winter, with con...

Osaka's doodling
Part of a slow and lazy ongoing over-complicated project I've been fiddling with. This is what the current version looks like at the moment but I'm gradually going to post an explanation of the mechanisms involved in the transformation, design decisions, etc. Its probably going to be a while before ...
