I can’t really find anywhere that states the destiny silhouette uses the Voiture Lumiere system, but it apparently uses “a new propulsion system”. Anyone knows what this propulsion system is?
The Japanese Wiki asserts it is a Voiture Lumiere system, citing Gundam Perfect File 64 as the source.

Re: The SE Project and its fate

What do we know about the SE Project? Is it still an official part of the UC story? Why was it abandoned if the new SE-Generator is capable of competing with the Minovsky Generator? I have no idea if it's an official part of the Universal Century continuity or not... I would assume "not", given the...

Re: Harmony Gold vs Tatsunoko

I would guess that it would depend on what Tats thinks they can make more money from: Distributing the Macross franchise with Big West/Studio Nue or renewing the deal with HG with promise of cut of profits from the RT LAM.... assuming it ever gets made Eh... I'm pretty sure there are some other imp...

Re: Harmony Gold vs Tatsunoko

i think the situation of Tsuburaya and to that china produced Ultraman film is kinda similar. Based on what little I've been able to find on the subject, I'd have to say it's not a very similar situation... It's not clear why TIGA Entertainment and UM Corporation believe their license from Chaiyo P...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

Thanks, Seto Kaiba. At your service. :) That old fox was a supporter of President Glass, I think that it was not too difficult for him to persuade(?) the president to appoint Mishima. That old fox not-so-secretly bankrolled the Macross Frontier fleet's construction and its mission to explore around...

Re: Harmony Gold vs Tatsunoko

I guess HG will start to get every single cent they can from Robotech now that the license will expire. Yeah, ever since Harmony Gold's own management stealth-canceled the Robotech: the Shadow Chronicles OVA by eliminating the budget before work could even begin on the second of its four planned ep...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

Comparing NUN with EU while NUN could appoint Mishima as President's aide in the novel...as far as I know, EU can't appoint their officials to posts in the government of member states, right? Key words being "in the novel"... the novels do not always rigidly follow the official series canon. Mind y...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

About the VB-6: 1) Can it fire its railguns in shuttle and battroid mode? No and Yes, respectively. The railguns are used as a plasma rocket propulsion system in shuttle mode, preventing them from firing normally. The main engines are needed to counterbalance the recoil of firing in Destroid mode. ...

Re: Harmony Gold vs Tatsunoko

as for the Harmony Gold vs tatsunoko. it's as big as a headache as ever IMO. also the comments from two ANN robotech articles said hat Big West itself was making a move on Harmony Gold. is that a different thing or did i just read wrong?(probably because of running on less than 4 hours of sleep) Oh...

Re: Harmony Gold vs Tatsunoko

Oh HG is the bad guy in this one, and you know it. I dunno, I mean... it's a case of a kinda-dickish trademark squatter trying to enforce its legitimately-purchased exclusive license and the terms of a prior binding settlement against a company of naive crooks who keep commiting the SAME EXACT CRIM...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

I never read the original article on Otona Anime, so I don't know the exact words he used in the interview 9 years ago. The only version I can find is a summary translated in Chinese (with unknown accuracy, since the reason mentioned above) from a BBS based at Taiwan and I suspect that some descrip...

Re: Harmony Gold vs Tatsunoko

I used to be a big Robotech fan back in the day before I figured out what Macross was (thanks to Macross Plus) and then everything clicked in. I never understood what was going on with Harmony Gold but I recently found out a ruling came out and Tatsunoko lost while Hormony Gold will have the rights...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

The Kairos was intended to replace the Nightmare Plus entirely in the entire New U.N, right, or just the Macross fleets and the planets if they choose to? [...] Based on the official sources, the Surya Aerospace VF-31 Kairos is set to replace the already long-obsolete General Galaxy VF-171 Nightmar...

Re: Can Space Colonisation discourage war?

At least in UC, the EFSF is so discouraged by the logistics and didn't really bother to start a real war with Axis, but just sent in a scout fleet in that many years even though they knew Zeon had a base over there. They also didn't do much to the Mars faction. However, the EF is very passive in al...

Re: Can Space Colonisation discourage war?

The problem here was that unlike real life where the racist and the victims of racism have opportunites to confront each other, if you think about it, a lot of colonists in the 0070s might had never seen Earth or met an Earthling, and the vice versa was also truth. The impact of prejudice therefore...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

here's a thought that came to mind: would Ace Combat's COFFIN system work with the VFs? i like to think that this could work if they limit it just to Fighter mode. But then a quick reading into the tech, its seems like you need to go the Brera route for the COFFIN to be useful. Unfortunately, I'm n...

Re: Can Space Colonisation discourage war?

In my opinion, Space Colonisation can actually discourage war, or at least interplanetary wars. The reason is that unless you have jump ship and is confident on a quick victory, the cost of transportation, intelligence, and pacification would be too high to justify the profit. And, if you think abo...

Furthermore F*** visual go thermal it is literally impossible to hide heat in space.
But it's childishly easy to mask it... just come toward the enemy with the sun at your back and you're effectively freaking invisible to an infrared scope.

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

Oyi you know the irony being that battletechs best designs were there original ones not the poorly cribed ones from macross and other. Think that's kind of a subjective matter, really... but then I freely admit I never much cared for the original designs in BattleTech . The big clunky chickenwalker...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

Say, how important is it for Valkyrie to have hands? I mean, except the rifles and the knives, there does not seem to be many choice when it comes to hand-held VF weapons. So why will they not go a step further an intergrated the guns directly to the forearms? Initially, at least, Variable Fighters...
