Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10400537 This is the pack you are looking for. Yeah, I figured that was the one... I just don't own one. I begin to think that some factions may be crazy enough to hunt Vajra for quartz, or even using the implant control technique to "herd" them for harvesting? So far, out...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

I checked the manual, Bharat built just the verniers, booster on the legs and back came from Feifeng. Making vernier for packs, then having a chance to produce a VF that is going to adopt service-wide, maybe there are really different VFs in future sequels, breaking the de facto duopoly of GG and S...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

F TV Version novel touched this serious clout a little bit, really little. While not strictly applicable to Macross 's animated official continuity, one of the great things about the novels is that they do a LOT more to connect the various Macross stories than the shows do. It's been a while since ...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

I am so surprised and confused now, for there are so many things about YF-24 family I never heard before and different from what I know for almost a decade. I confess I'm surprised you're surprised. Most of what I've said has been covered in many different official publications including Macross Ch...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

Though one question I have - and this might be a stupid one - in the case of the VF-27, I would imagine it to be the exception among YF-24 descendants in that I would expect it to have been developed via a branch office of General Galaxy rather than a Shinsei Industries branch? Since IIRC, GG is he...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

As usual, thanks to Kaiba for the info, I didn't know that about the YF-24 being a possible next gen main fighter cause its development history is kind of tricky from what I read and that it spawned a number of units. Thus far, there are only two 5th Generation VFs that are not directly derived fro...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

Frontier and Delta the private firms are using the VF-25/VF-31 because they helped develop and pay for them. 's actually more a matter of the local New UN Forces having contracted their services to test them in combat conditions because if a mercenary snuffs it it's legally an accidental death rath...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

Maybe I misunderstand the entire thing because "Earth Mainland" or "Main Planet" are often mentioned in novels (The Ride, 30 and Delta) and UN is portrayed as like a centralized government, or at least a federal one more than a supranational organization, especially in novels, even in NUN era. :rol...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

YF-29B is the YF-29 manufactured at Shinsei HQ on Earth, or the Earth Mainland Version (地球本国仕様). (From Macross 30) [...] We're aware of that, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the question I was answering about how the YF-29B's specs changed from the base YF-29's. YF-29B is simply the YF-29 ...

Re: Pilot curriculum

Would it? It seems to me that most spacenoids would still be bound by (simulated) gravity unless their occupation demanded it. Most people probably do not need to work at the space docks, and it's definitely a small portion of the population that are say, crewing ships or launches or what have you....

Re: Macross Mega Marathon

That's a bit harsh, eh? Veffidas gets on with him well enough and Ray only got ACTUALLY mad at him once in the whole 49 episodes. And Mylene only argues with him because she might(?) have a crush on him. Anyway... C'mon, Veffidas never talks and Ray spends most of the series in a semi-permanent sta...

Re: Pilot curriculum

Say, would a MS pilot who was born and brought up inside a colony for his entire life would have a different perspective on height and distance than someone raised on Earth? I mean, it has been shown many times that colonists can just raised their heads to clearly see the buildings which are built ...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

Well, looks like this thread will have to go active again as a Macross Delta movie has been announced. As is pretty typical with these kinds of announcements, we haven't yet been told what exactly this movie is; it could be a direct sequel, maybe a compilation movie, maybe a short film like The Gal...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

(Which still manages to be more informative than the available info on Mei Leeron's VF-27y.) Unless she heavily customized it, I can't imagine her Lucifer is any different than the other VF-27y Granted, though the two sentences we get about it on Macross Chronicle 's Mechanic Sheet for the VFs from...

Re: How can your average Ace earn his special MS?

How can your average Ace - that is, someone who is not affiliated with any experimental program and is serving actively - can get his hand on one of these models? Must he pass a certain rank to file a request? Or there is a test to be done? Or maybe his superior looks at his combat record and then ...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

Ah, I didn't know that about the heavy quantum beam gunpod was developed into a scaled down version used by the VF-30A... I just thought it was a beam gunpod that didn't use solid rounds. As usual thanks for the insight. Super dimension energy weaponry seems to be rising to even greater prominence ...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

Yeah, we barely see much of the VF-31A in combat and its weapons features, we don't even see or know any VF-31A active pilots outside of Arad in flashbacks, which is pretty much the same as Frontier's S.M.S stock VF-25 pilots outside of the main team... [...] Actually, we got names, ranks, and face...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

I meant more in terms of fixed/built in weaponry for the VF-31 (both Kairos and Siegfried) that it has more weapons over the normal VF-25, it has internal missile launchers, multipurpose container and 2 railgun gunpods on the arms along with the usual normal head gun, hand carried gunpod and the py...

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

Upon further thought, I find myself wondering why the Brisingir Cluster even bothered to develop the VF-31? If it doesn't have much better performance than the Messiah... why not just buy Messiahs? Oh, any number of reasons... but the main ones are economic. The Brisingr Alliance is an economic and...

Re: Macross Mega Marathon

Even so, they don't seem to produce any appreciable level of Song Energy until the very last episode with Mylene rallying them. Well, yeah... they don't really reach a point where they stop freaking out about being shot at until then. Basara is a flat, static character. He does not learn, grow, or ...
