Re: Gundam Seed/Destiny Remaster Gets (re)Dub

Well to be fair part of that wast the absurd edits Toonami put on it (The disco guns); people might have been a bit more forgiving without it and it wasn't bad once the edits were removed. Agreed... the Toonami edit was so dreadful that it prevented me from ever getting past the 12th episode of Gun...

Really the indirect hero who allowed Manga ent to get away with getting the rights to Macross Plus for us release was Haim Saban who hired off the robotech staff after the first sequel attempt stalled. apparently the loss of staff was bad enough that no one at legal noticed the rights sale. I am indebted to Seto Kaiba for the behind-the-scenes financial shell game that has shorted HG for real productive work. The Agrama family are a real piece of work. Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

I just binge watched the series and felt I wasted my time. There's no reason to watch Delta if you've already seen Frontier. Everything about Frontier was better: the mecha combat, the characters, the songs, etc. Delta was too formulaic. [...] Speaking as a huge Macross fan, yeah... the whole Macro...

Re: The medical downsides to being a Newtype

Reading through the X-Men comics gave me this idea: Until now we have only seen the "good side" of being a Newtype on the battlefield. But what about real life? Which problems does a person who turned into a Newtype must overcome? (The same with Innovators and X-Rounders) One thing we can say for c...

Let me begin by saying that I'm most definitely NOT what you'd call a fan of Star Wars . I found the first Star Wars trilogy an engaging and enjoyable science fantasy series, but the prequel trilogy and virtually all the Expanded Universe material I've been exposed to since then I would, in all fair...

I would like to mention that TV-tropes is an Wiki anyone can edit the pages there and is not an fully vetted source for info as any one with a internet connection can change it's contents.

Re: TV Tropes lists ZoE's Jehuty as a super prototype, even though it isn't

I am saying the whole prototype phase is in the unrealistic ideal realm where you can do whatever you want until you get to the point of the production.(or at least the start of the show) Like I keep saying, that's as far from ideal as it's possible to get without hiring someone to periodically pok...

Re: TV Tropes lists ZoE's Jehuty as a super prototype, even though it isn't

Not quite to that point yet. The RX-78-2 Gundam for example, is only at the stage of testing whether it can move or not, and is still some way until production. It's not my intention to be rude when I say this, but that is literally the exact opposite of what you said in your previous reply. Either...

Re: TV Tropes lists ZoE's Jehuty as a super prototype, even though it isn't

I didn't say the prototype is the first to come out, I am saying you got all your time, budget and resources to do all the testing you want and the working and curb-stomping unit which you call a "prototype" is at its final stage of production and thus you are not working on multiple systems that a...

Re: TV Tropes lists ZoE's Jehuty as a super prototype, even though it isn't

I would like to add that the Origin showed the earlier prototype and testing phases of Zeon's 1st mobile suits from the worker units to the Bugu that lead to the Zaku I and Zaku II. Of course this is part of the Origin timeline that takes its own liberties in trying to modernize some things like th...

Re: TV Tropes lists ZoE's Jehuty as a super prototype, even though it isn't

Well, what we see in media is more inclining towards the ideally completed prototype. Ideal as in the Engineer's terms, where you have (almost) no limit to your budget and resources, and you can ignore if it can be mass-produced or not (the plan WAS to mass-produce your design, or IS, when you are ...

Re: What were the Gundams from Wing, 00, and IBO?

The Gundam Frames were already produced from the start to fight mobile armors, so if they had to take that base and then customize it further, it seems likely that it had to be for specific pilots and/or situations.
