Re: Zeon Gundam?

Performance-wise Gelgoogs and Gyans are already Gundam tier, so the next mass production lines are already covered. As for "ultimate weapons" Zeon had so many kind of MAs, both for oldtypes and newtypes, that developing a Gundam copy is kind of redundant... (not that this ever stopped Zeon...

Re: Questions about the GM Cannon

BTW, rocket bazooka? I do not know of any bazooka not using a rocket projectile. It's just Gundam naming, strange for the sake of it. Or maybe to distract from the fact that this kind of bazooka is named after a french novelist... (not official but they didn't give any other explanation, did they?)

Re: Questions about the GM Cannon

Bear in mind that both GM Cannon Space Assault type and Guncannon Heavy type D are depicted with a 380mm Balzac Rocket Bazooka, so it seems that bazookas are still useful for support units. And yes, fixed weapons can be more stable but bazookas are supposed to be recoilless and should be easier and ...

Re: The Official Gundam Hathaway Mecha Thread Mk I

My bad for the 40t instead of the 47t. Still 22 meters is huge for a MS, and you must count that the Gustav not only is taller, but bulkier and equipped with a shield, 9 tons barely cover all that. Surely not HEAVY armor. Thicker? It doesn't seem so, it gets owned like any other federal MS. I contin...

Re: The Official Gundam Hathaway Mecha Thread Mk I

Although I don't understand the reason why the Gustav Karl is that large, given that it doesn't have that much firepower, its the usual general MS weapons, but it does have more heavy armor compared to other Federation mass production units at the time. I don't think so. The armor is Gundarium that...

Re: Would you prefer more missiles or shoulder-mounted cannons?

Well but the RGC-90 does have them as does the Jesta Cannon so there isn't really much gap between CCA and F91 (pretty sure we will see some Gustav Karl variations in the new movie and I bet one will have a shoulder cannon). If we delve deeper in side stories there is the RGD-X2 GD Cannon from Doubl...

Re: GM Striker Kai - What Do We Know?

Consider, if you will, that those examples are extremely high-end one-off or limited production mobile suits that either either explicitly or implicitly have better computer equipment than the average mobile suit. Presumably as mobile suit technology continued to advance, the need to manually repro...

Re: GM Striker Kai - What Do We Know?

Mobile Suits do rely on those verniers for a lot of their rapid maneuvering, AMBAC isn't that great for changing your orientation while on the move. That really depends on the show/budget. In 0083? Yeah they love to use their verniers but if you stick with the original (both series or movies) eithe...

Re: GM Striker Kai - What Do We Know?

And vice versa ground use MSs should work in space because most of them have rocket thrusters for movement and limbs for AMBAC maneuvering, saying they can't because they have no verniers makes no sense. That said they would still probably be harder to use, but the sitting duck depiction in igloo se...

It's the same in Gundam Battle Universe, never heard they were in the Beam Sabers.

Re: Making Sense Of The Gallus Series

It was exactly what I was trying to say, trying is the key word here lol. Another thing: the fact that Gallus is used as royal guard machine doesn't mean it's a good MS, we are talking about Re:Zeon here which is like a part of neo neo zeon... and remember that the previous royal guard machines of H...

Re: Making Sense Of The Gallus Series

So Gallus-J is a successor to the Zaku series that gets deployed alongside much better units and is developed for use on earth in tandem with Zssa. Recently we had proof that is a modular design or at least a good base for modification and is easy to produce. Maybe Neo Zeon developed the Zaku III to...

Re: Making Sense Of The Gallus Series

What have official source to say about the Gallus? I found this on Mark's website: AMX-101 GALLUSS-J A land warfare mobile suit developed by the Neo Zeon forces for use in their Earth invasion. As a successor to the Zaku series of the old Zeon forces, it is easy to produce, but its performance is lo...

Re: Making Sense Of The Gallus Series

What if it's just a bad design? Would explain why Neo Zeon it's in constant research for new mp models in all ZZ and why it's modified so much compared to other Neo Zeons MS which gets deployed by Sleeves as they are or with minor improvements (the Gazas, Ga-Zown, Re-Gelg, Zaku III, Dreissen etc.).

Re: Making Sense Of The Gallus Series

Maybe the extra weight is mostly armor? If it's really meant for urban combat on earth then it's assumed it would fight mostly old units with ballistic weapons and we saw how even those in Dakar had a bad time against a Juagg.

Re: Hyper Bazooka - Weapon of Yesteryear?

Beam Rifles are just as good at blowing up ships while having more ammo (at the point where in Zeta era even mass produced ms can replenish their e-cap in combat) and if rifle not enough there are bigger variants. In the end after OYW the only ms which use bazookas are Rick Dias and some Gundams mos...
