Re: Bootleg Gunpla?
Now that I've investigated the bootleg market more, I definitely think that knock off/recast products have no place in my collection, however, I do have an interest in conversion kits and independently designed/produced resin kits, even though they do violate intellectual property use laws. I freely...

XN Raiser available through HLJ
HobbyLink Japan has rencently listed the October 2009 issue of Hobby Japan as an in stock item . It includes the 1/144 XN Raiser model kit. If you buy this issue of Hobby Japan, you also get a Hobby Japan flat brush as an additional bonus. This is a second chance at getting the XN Raiser for your s...

Re: Modeling Tips/Techniques/Help links

Re: Bootleg Gunpla?
I just discovered G-System and my goodness, if these aren't licensed products, I don't care if they're bootleg. Things like the Gerbera Tetra resin kit...so expensive but so exquisite looking.

Re: Bootleg Gunpla?
Company loyalty is a non-factor for my decision making when buying model kits. My main concern is quality of the product. So I guess as far as bootlegs, I am interested in resin conversion kits rather than copies/knock offs of existing models. I'd rather buy official products because I can depend on...

Re: Bootleg Gunpla?
As someone relatively new to the model kit hobby, my view is probably pretty naive but I find that I usually get what I pay for. A lot of people seem to really bash Bandai but despite any flaws, I think their Gundam model kit products much more often than not deliver good quality materials and have ...

Re: Contacting gundamstoreandmore?
Good to hear that the store has a great customer service. I'd love to do business with Gundamstoreandmore but they don't ship to Canada, though they state they planned initiate shipping to Canada during the summer of 2009.

Re: Those little screws....
I don't have the Strike Noir or IWSP models but I did have a pair of screws to install on my MG RX-78-2 OYW model and it was pretty easy. Are the screws included with some MG kits usually difficult to install?

Re: HGUC Unicorn Lining questions
I have the HGUC RX-0 Unicorn Mode model kit and to be honest, I don't feel like it needs panel lining. The grooves for the panels on the model are relatively deep and well defined and some of the panel lines are actually seams of parts, which Bandai's designers cleverly incorporated. As long as you ...

Re: Upcoming Models, Merch & Rumors IX
I like the Tactical Arms bow for the Astray Red Frame Kai. Along with the katanas, it fits with the samurai vibe(though it looks like a symmetrical bow rather than a daikyu).

Re: Upcoming Models, Merch & Rumors IX
Excellent news! I've been thinking of getting the HG 00 Raiser + GN Sword III but I may get the Seven Sword version instead. Seeing the improvements done for the MG Astray Blue Frame 2nd Revise over the NG 1/100 2nd L, I can't wait to see what redesign the Astray Red Frame will get in MG form.

Re: Iron Man II
The movie is looking good! It seems to have retained the irreverent humour of the first movie. War Machine looks very cool. I wonder how it'll be worked into the story seeing as Tony made a turn from being an arms manufacturer in the first movie. I mean, War Machine is specifically outfitted for hea...

Re: Odd/off pronunciations?
Out of "astray" and "Char", the former is far more puzzling to me. Like you said, it's a common enough word. So I really don't get how people are off on how they say "astray". Char's name is far more understandable a case because I wouldn't have guessed "shar"...

Odd/off pronunciations?
Simply put, I would like to know what you folks have noticed with respect to pronunciations of words/names. My inspiration for this topic is Gundam related. First of all, it seems like very person I've heard say "astray" in Youtube videos, as in Astray Red Frame, pronounce it "ass tra...

Re: Upcoming Models, Merch & Rumors IX
It probably won't happen but it'd be neat to see an MG Zee Zulu. I love its Z'Gok type claw hands. A less remote possibility would be the Jesta, which I think has a nice combination of GM aesthetics with a special ops feel.

Scale inconsistencies, particularly Gunpla
I just read through Dalong's review of the MG V Gundam Ver. Ka and one thing that caught my eye was how small it is. According to stats, the F91 is 15.2 meters tall and so is V Gundam. However, the MG V Gundam is noticeably shorter than the MG F91. Does anyone know of any other odd/off scale instanc...
