The red on the sheath is a darker shade, but I think that's it. I can't see any differences in shape.

HLJ and Gunota.info both report that the extra sword and clear armour parts will be packaged with the first production run of the PG Astray - and not an extra purchase, as at least I was thinking.

I have mine pre-ordered, though I doubt I'll get those clear option parts.

Lots more pictures:

Is it my eyes playing tricks on me, or is the sword actually metal?

Interesting... Thanks for all the advice guys.

I'll experiment at length on the runners before I try on any parts. All I have to do now is wait until March - that'll be the hardest part I think :)

According to their FAQ, 3M doesn't ship to the UK. Plus I don't want that much paper or to spend that much (I only buy one or two models a year). But if you're recommending Microfine and Ultrafine (grit range of 800 to 500), then how about these: http://www.hlj.com/product/TAM87024 http://www.hlj.co...

I don't paint or line my models - I don't trust myself to do it right. I want to sand down the bits from where you cut the parts off the runners without scratching the colour.

Gunpla moddeling tools advice - sandpaper

So, the 7th kit in my collection will be the PG Astray Red Frame (after my 5 MG's and 1 PG) And this time I want to make a really good job of it, so I'm getting a new pair of side cutters (my current pair are actually wire cutters), and adding a craft knife, cutting mat, and sandpaper. My question i...

Macross Frontier animated GIF

I was bored for an hour this morning, so I decided to make an animated gif of the scene in ep 25 where Alto and Brera double-team the Vajra queen: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/vectorspace/MF/AltoBrera.gif (58 frames, 12 frames per second, 1.48MB, 320x180) I do like that scene. Best viewed with a bla...

The only thing that bugged me about the Battle Galaxy/Battle Froniter/Macross Quarter battle was you didn't see it very clearly when Frontier bunched through Galaxy.

But what can I say, I like seeing mecha get ripped to pieces up in vivid detail.

Galaxy certainly bit off more than it could chew and paid for it. I just wish we had a better view of Frontier splitting Galaxy in two.

What happened to Ai-kun? Did we see him again after the red Vajra knocked him aside to get to Brera's VF-27 last episode? Has anyone considered the possibility that Ai-kun saved Alto? I also noticed what appeared to be Battle Frontier alongside Island 1, and then still attached a short time later. ...

I only came into the Gundam universe just after SEED, but Gunota was my first and only stop for Gundam news.

It's such a shame the blog is ending, I will miss it and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

And with all those eggs being hatched somewhere secretly in (I assume) the Frontier fleet... hmm... gee, they're still being a tease, but seeing what looks like a furry head pretty much pushes the evidence that 'Ai-kun' is a baby Vajra. :P I'd be amazed if it wasn't the case. Add to that the scene ...

Do I need to watch the other Macross's before Frontier?

I now a bit about the Macross universe, but I've never really watched any of it before.

Do I need to watch some of the older series before I watch Macross Frontier?

They've already gone through hell when the all-important Plan went pear shaped. Pear Shaped? Never heard that phrase before, I assume it means downhill, but pear shaped. Not trying to be critical about it, just thought it was clever. Pear shaped is a British-English (a.k.a. proper English ;)) slang...

Given how 24 turned out and that there is only 1 ep left, I can't see how they could bring in Graham's GN-Flag, which is a shame.

I lost count, but I think that the UN Forces are now down to 5 or so GN-X's.

Ryujin wrote:The Thirtieth GN-X is, of course, in some Union hangar missing a GN Drive--if it hasn't been turned to spare parts already.
I assumed that the drive came from a GN-X that was too damaged to repair but had an undamaged GN Drive.

Can't wait to see the GN-Flag.
