Re: What books are you reading?
Just finished a number of Asimov's Foundation novels: Foundation, Foundation and Empire, Second Foundation, and Prelude to Foundation in that order. Fairly interesting series as it presents the usual non-stop intrigue and action while world-building along the way. Probably will get the remaining nov...

Re: 4GFFG: Round Four: Neo America Neo China
Without further fanfare, Li took off in a low dash through the ruined city streets. He remained mindful of the unfamiliar terrain and wondered where his opponent was within this labyrinth. He was careful to avoid piles of rubble while remaining light on his feet. At the same time, he drew his right ...

Re: 4GFFG: Round Four: Neo America Neo China
Li stood still, with his body ready but relaxed and his eyes closed. Then his comm panel lit up and the Neo American fighter's, Chris Anderson's, voice came through. Li nodded silently as he scanned the area. It would be difficult to navigate through and fighting around here would be a vastly differ...

Re: 4GFFG: Round Four: Neo America Neo China
As Li's Gundam started up, he reflected briefly on that ever-so-exciting previous match and the victory that he managed to eke out. One of his technical staff noted that his opponent's machine wasn't operating at full potential, as its transformation mode was inactive due to prior damage. That didn'...

Re: What books are you reading?
I managed to get a good deal on the Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy during the holidays, so I went and read the remaining two books.
I plan to start reading Asimov's Foundation series fairly soon...

Re: 4GFFG: Round Three: Neo Australia Neo China
Seeing his swing miss, he braced himself as the Bike lowered. Its legs were tucked behind it despite being so low to the ground, so Li bent his own knees in kind. As the Bike lunged out, Li launched himself up and backwards in an aerial somersault. He caught a glimpse of both the beam dagger and the...

Re: 4GFFG: Round Three: Neo Australia Neo China
Li hopped up a little at the sight of the oncoming chains and avoided having the chains wrapped around his legs, but did receive more damage as armor was dented by said chains. The damage prevented him from moving fast enough to avoid the Bike's counterattack and took the first hit literally head on...

Re: 4GFFG: Round Three: Neo Australia Neo China
Li kept the reactor status within his peripheral vision and noted that the meter was steadily climbing. " Almost there ," he thought as he saw the shift in the grip of one of the Bike's hand. He got his shortened guan dao ready just in time to see one of the beam blades fly towards him. He...

Re: 4GFFG: Round Three: Neo Australia Neo China
Li remained on guard after unleashing the attack as the reactor struggled to adjust back to nominal output. His guan dao lost its beam edge and his heat gauntlets and footpads were deactivated for the moment. He watched as the Bike's pilot managed to maneuver herself to a position where she just man...

Re: 4GFFG: Round Three: Neo Australia Neo China
As Li used the momentum of the maneuver to bring himself back onto his feet, a warning on one of his auxiliary HUDs lit up, indicating that he took damage on the right rear leg. The damage didn't extend so far as into the actual leg mechanisms, but it did severe the circuits that powered the footpad...

Re: 4GFFG: Round Three: Neo Australia Neo China
Li managed to get up fully and willed his left arm to move. Somehow it did, though nowhere near when it was at pristine condition. But he didn't have much time to worry about the finer details as the Bike recovered and began to draw a set of beam knives. He still had his Guan Dao out in its retracte...

Re: 4GFFG: Round Three: Neo Australia Neo China
Li didn't act surprised at how the Bike managed to 'block' his guan dao with his own de-activated jian, but it could've been more hazardous if it was still live. But it was a little bit of a shock when the Bike rushed forward and tackled him. He saw the inbound hammer and reacted to reduce the damag...

Re: VOTOMS
Hmm...where to start... My attention was first directed to VOTOMs by the good people at Gundamn!, and eventually got the entire series on DVD via RightStuf and loved it. I went on to watch all the assorted OVAs, including Pailsen Files, Last Red Shoulder, Big Battle, and Shining Heresy. Just got int...

Looks really neat. It's interesting how it's moving away from the current trend of 'realism' that marks recent superhero movies.

Re: 4GFFG: Round Three: Neo Australia Neo China
Li felt the feedback as the Bike managed to block his kick. Then he saw the chain lash out into the air, so he rebounded off his previous attack and landed several meters back. But then he noted that the chain had gone for his jian, so he quickly sent the signal to deactivate said jian. He drew his ...

Re: 4GFFG: Round Three: Neo Australia Neo China
Given his still-low stance, he easily avoided the reactive backhand by leaning the head to his left. He fired a burst with his Vulcans at the exposed weapon arm. But the follow-up low swing of the Bike's hammer gave him little time to react, so he twisted his right arm and activated the heat gauntle...

Re: 4GFFG: Round Three: Neo Australia Neo China
As soon as Li saw the flash of the Bike Gundam's arm vulcans, he twisted and threw his left shoulder forward, where the armor took the bulk of the shells. He noted the lack of use of the chain, but had to deal with the shoulder charge with little room to spare. He went even lower by shifting the Gua...
