Vladimir Aznable, although I suppose Gilbert Lenin would have fit better ideologically.

Re: Gundam Characters You wish that Survived>
I wish that Bright Noa survived. Not that he died in battle, but that he beat death. To live on to truly be The Eternal Captain, riding on a Pegasus slapping children who won't adhere to their responsibilities and filling the universe with Men of Destiny. This way, the peace that Char and Amuro envi...

Re: Eden of the East, The King of Eden, Paradise Lost
I bought the anime on a whim during the Black Friday deals on Amazon.com from the show constantly popping up as a suggested purchase. Ended up enjoying it enough to get the two succeeding movies to finish off the story. The concept of the show was interesting with Genie in the Cell Phone and the abs...

Re: What game/s are you progressing with?(post in here!)
I didn't have the common feeling of outrage toward the ending. It was a hidden happy ending, although I understood that people wanted to see the immediate aftermath of all their decisions throughout the trilogy play out in the ending. I didn't see it as being out-of-nowhere as many did. I've been ch...

I've heard this podcast three times now, it's so great.
"You are the abused wife, and Capcom is wearing the wifebeater." is one of the greatest things I've heard in a long while.

I agree for the most part. The stuff I mentioned about the Arsenal Gears are fact (GW, effort it took, etc.) but the REX and RAYs thing I can see with your opinion.
Sorry if I irked you with it.

Re: Ep. 069 - Stark Raving Madhouse!
I think it's a bit bigger than a nitpick. The point of the topic was bad super weapons, and you mentioned a couple that did not fall under the criteria of the super weapons mentioned before and after. It wasn't simple to disrupt (Requiem or the Death Stars) and it wasn't a weapon depended on to solv...

Re: Ep. 069 - Stark Raving Madhouse!
I apologize if I'm not supposed to post in threads this old. My one hitch with the podcast was when the Metal Gears were mentioned. Snake is a clone of the greatest soldier, so him being able to destroy a Metal Gear is not that ridiculous. The Metal Gear RAYs weren't real since they can get upwards ...

Re: Gundams and gravity...
I don't remember that many mobile suits flying or hovering in Z Gundam. Even when fighting outside of the Audhumla, the Gundam Mk.II and Hyaku Shiki couldn't keep up their fighting for very long before they either returned to the plane or got an a SFS. Looking at non-one shot prototype suits, the on...

Can't be agreed upon because this has just been a conversation on the whole issue. There isn't a right answer. I didn't expect this to go anywhere in the first place. It was fun, though, so at least I got something out of it. I expect this'll be locked then?

Re: They're altogether ooky, the Zabi family
Wow. Moral equivalency between planting trees and killing people. Okay. Yep. Considering how boned those soldiers are going in their later years, works out in my eyes. Well anyways, I've already said my piece and now the goalposts are over there when they used to be right here :| There's repeated u...

Re: They're altogether ooky, the Zabi family
I'm sure Killing would quietly let Von Helsing report to the proper authorities how unlawful he is. The same when M'Quve's aide tried to stop him from firing the missile. Oh wait, the man was willing to have a nuke fired at a colony against the Treaty's law so he probably doesn't have the scruples m...

Re: They're altogether ooky, the Zabi family
I'm sure there are many people in the military who would want to disobey what they believe to be an immoral order, but if people started disobeying their superiors as such it would effectively shut down the military because everyone can claim moral issues for shooting at an enemy, taking prisoners, ...

Re: They're altogether ooky, the Zabi family
To think this all started about a guy asking three specific questions about Axis. So you're not responsible for something in any way as long as you were told to do it? That's a pretty ballsy position. So here's the corollary: if soldiers incur no responsibility whatsoever for their own actions becau...

Re: They're altogether ooky, the Zabi family
Yes, exactly. Uh yeah, the benefits to morale are far meager in comparison to the devastation to morale that seeing your commander take a bullet and start coughing blood up all over you as he breathes his last breath, which is the risk you take when a unit commander goes out onto the line. Consideri...

Argh. I wasn't trying to provoke you there. Meant to be jokingly. Christ I'm ballsing this up.
I brought up The O's beacon, not The O, as an example of showing his presence on the battlefield. Dozle making his presence known in combat would have improved morale.

Re: They're altogether ooky, the Zabi family
I would have let them off scott free considering the situation. I don't recall The O having that feature, but let's just say it did. First, whether The O has or doesn't have that feature has no bearing on Dozle Zabi's Zaku, which differed from other Zakus only by its large heat hawk, large cockpit, ...

Re: They're altogether ooky, the Zabi family
You did explain, but if they could hold each soldier on trial for the actions in the war, do you think they would actually take the time to prosecute each soldier for killing Allied soldiers? Prosecute the soldiers for defending V2 rocket bases and naval yards? Well I guess that is where we differ. ...
