Re: New Macross TV series in 2018

The lack of direct connection between Macross shows is one of the things that I never really liked about it, even if it has its upsides. If the novels and manga were available in the west, you'd probably enjoy the hell out of those. They draw SO MANY connections between the different shows and game...

Thanks for the translation as usual.

Question: Is this the first time we have seen this pseudo explosive based Deinsleif in the series?

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

Thanks, Arbiter! My apologies for waiting so long until now to get through the final two episodes of Delta. I actually didn't come out of it disappointed with the series as a whole because the final battle and performance by Walkure was so epic and amazing! The love triangle resolved so n...

Re: Hand contact and communication

In 00 world, the Gundams also can communicate each other via analyzing the vibration in each other armors though it doesn't require physical contact. It's actually an old method in this world that has most been forgotten or obsolete but presumably because useful to Celestial Being due to GN interfer...

Re: The Official Macross Delta Anime Thread Mk I

I thought they were always close with each other for pretty all of the series so that scene always felt really like a natural extension of what they usually do.

Re: Which series has "cornerstone" mecha designs?

Perhaps one day someone could make a remake and change the overall premise starting by making the Vagan true alien invaders. The different Vagan MS could be adapted into man-eating alien creatures. They could call it Gundam R-Age (rage), lol. I wished they were real aliens too, that would have been...

Re: The Official Gundam Twilight AXIS Anime Thread Mk I

This type of format might work for an original anime story where they can write the content to fit the allocated time. Still hard to execute but at least there will be some chance. As an adaptation of an existing novel though? Yea this project was a super long shot from the beginning with this forma...

Re: Why do MS eyes glow?

I always imagined in a meeting somewhere someone went "We spent all this time and money building a complex terrifying humanoid machine of war and destruction". "So hell yes we're gonna make the eyes glow". Kinda like the Apple logo on older MacBooks, the glow serves no direct function but to look co...

Re: IBO MSV

I'm going to give it a shot but might need E08 to smooth out the edges/correction. After returning it's original armor from ASW-G-47 Gundam Vual, up to 82% of the appearance of ASW-G-29 Asteroth has been restored and it was sold by Nanao. After being bought back by Jean Marco in the black market of ...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk III

Thanks for the info, lot of nice small tidbits.

Seems strange to put a low powered apogee thruster in the middle of a chest though, even if it's likely due to it being close/part of the reactor itself. I always assumed they would be in various parts of the body or something.

Re: Gundam no Reconguista Movies Thread?

Hmmm I guess it seems to be similar to what he said in the original lecture cited in the old thread, that they would make movies 2 and 3 if 1 was well received.

Re: Gundam no Reconguista Movies Thread?

i don't think there's two separate movies or projects here. - It was reported that Tomino said in a lecture that he was working on a compilation movie last year spring and that it would be out by November 2016 but nothing came out of it. - Then in November 2016, an animator twitted that a G-Reco mov...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

I don't know why but that art style bothered me a lot in AGE but didn't in Orphans, even for the characters where it was more prominent. I suspect the reason why they went with it was to showcase that they are children fighting in a real bloody war, the more mature looking characters like Orga and A...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

Kimaris in theory should have data recordings of the event, unless it was stored in the cockpit and was destroyed when it was attacked by the sword. But more evidence wouldn't hurt I guess regardless. Rustal was in that advantageous "they don't know that we know" camp even if he was aware that Rusta...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

I think McGillis would have likely attempted it if Gaelio revealed himself at any point like the way he did in the anime though the meeting would have to happen a different way than the Mars one if the mobile armor never rampaged Mars. Gaelio being alive by itself would have revealed how vulnerable ...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

Well there's only so much you could do when you're outnumbered two-to-one and the other side has like a lot of Deinsleifs...... He was a pretty terrible assassin though which ultimately led to his downfall and most of not all of his problems in Season 2 and the decisions he was forced to make as a r...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

I was thinking more on her elaborating the public discussion that led to it as opposed to what Rustal was thinking in his head.

The death of three families for example was a good example of one of the factors that led to the reforms that was public knowledge. So more points that are similar to that.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

Rustal is mostly a pragmatist for the most part so I can see him doing this if the winds are blowing that way and it wouldn't be hard to speculate, however I think the show could do a much better job of explaining general rational as opposed to us having to guess it. It wouldn't take long, 30 second...
