Re: Latest Gundam/Mecha Merchandise thread (2008-2009)

My word it has been a while since I posted something here... Acquisitions since my last post in this thread: PG Astray MG RX-78 OYW MG Unicorn MG Sinanju AB & Compressor, and a gang of Tamiya tools - Sharp pointed side cutters, tweezers, weathering kit, modeller's knife, file set, scriber...

Glad they were useful GunEagle. A sharpie will usually work fine for the eye area, and can be good for panel lines if you can find a fine enough tip. We have a limited range of Sharpie products available in Australia and the best one I've found so far is a double ended CD/DVD marker with a 1mm end a...

They are about 5-8 mins each and give you a simple technique for eyes.

I thought it was an awesome kit and had fun with it every step of the way. It was a big learning experience for me. I just snap fitted it and added some panel lines and a clear coat and I was very happy with how it turned out. This kit appears to be going much cheaper now as well. If you're interest...

And yeah, 00 got licensed. Wonder if it's gonna be shown on TV, or just go straight to DVD like MS IgLOO? Pretty sure it starts airing on the Sci Fi channel in the US November 17th, but searching their site indicates that it may start on the 24th of November. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/20...

That is a good price for that kit. Don't stress about the wiring, it's usually really simple. Either way it will look cool.

I have the MG Nu in my cabinet and the Hi Nu on it's way. The Hi Nu looks so awesome and that's part of the reason I bought it, the other part is that I enjoyed building the MG Nu and the design so much. As AMX-011 ZakuIII says above, I doubt the gate connection points on the extra finish version wi...

I love the artwork so I keep them stacked inside each other like babushka dolls to save space. If I ever want to go back and disassemble them for any reason or decide to learn how to paint them then I have the manuals and box art for reference. I also take inspiration for poses from the pics on the ...

My wife disparagingly called it "Brokeback modeling". LOL Funny lady! It's nice to know that I'm not the only 30something/married/have-kids gundam fan out there (seems like it sometimes). I think there's more of us than you think, though I'm not quite thirty something (almost) I am marrie...

How did you manage to work on it (and paint?!) while on business travel? Did you pack it in your suitcase and take it with you?

Not a fan of Aussie beers for the most part. Occasionally a Coopers or a Boags is ok. VB, Four X, Tooheys etc I find cheap and nasty, Four X is quite possibly the dirtiest beer ever brewed IMHO, with maybe the exception of those really fruity Belgian varieties. Fosters has hardly been sold in Aust s...

I read through the WIP section for the Sazabi the other day, quite incredible I must say! Some serious mods there. I particularly liked the scratch built forearms, the head mods, and the additional detail you added to the shield and insides of the shoulders. A painstaking recreation of the anime and...

The end of an era. So sad to see Gunota go. I would like to applaud RGZ and Neo-Era for their sustained efforts in keeping us all informed for such a long time. 5 years is a damn long time. I hope someone else steps in as well, but it's implied that the idea is obsolete which I don't agree with. I r...

I was of the opinion that bigger is better, but my preference is swaying towards MG's now, so 1/100 would be my choice.

1/60 scales are too big to display lots of them nicely. I'll still another PG or two if the mood strikes me, but I'm all about the MG's ATM.
