Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Anime Thread Mk I

So quick question What official sources actually state the date/ year the Prologue episode takes place? Everyone is saying 109 Ad Stella, but I can't find it among the sources Wikipedia lists and Gundam fandom doesn't even list the year it takes place Gundam info lists the current year for the main ...

Re: The Official Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Anime Thread Mk I

Well, the new Gundam series is upon us, and so far its off to a pretty good start. Epsiode 1 Man people really weren't exaggerating with the Utena comparisons; you could literally do a side by side comparison for half the academy scenes. That being said I do like how Suletta is the shy and awkward o...

Re: The Official Gundam Hathaway Anime Thread Mk I

That is a bit difficult to comprehend if Mafty wants to stop the deportation of people into space but at the same time Hathaway wants humanity as a whole to move into space (Char's ideals). I'm not an expert on Hathaway's Flash but my understanding was that Hathaway was trying to both embrace Amuro...

Re: The Official Gundam Narrative Anime Thread Mk I

It's just me or the last trailer gives the vibes that Rita's brain was pulled from here to be inserted into a NT death machine? Surely I'm exaggerating a bit, but I'm guessing that the Phenex backstory is creepy. Aside from that, what's the deal with the psychotic Neo Zeong pilot? He sure seems lik...

Re: Full Metal Panic: Invisible Victory

It has more to do with his state of mind than the Lambda driver considering what we saw him do at the end of TSR. Seeing what happened to Kyoko most likely rattled him and combine that with just how outclassed he was by Leonard, he barely has time think let alone operate the Lambda driver. Even if h...

Re: The Official Gundam Narrative Anime Thread Mk I

Well wasn't the Sinanju intact, kind of, after Unicorn? I know parts of the larger Neo Zeong turned to dust due to Newtype Weirdness but the core Sinanju was intact wasn't it? Nope, it pretty much disintegrated like the rest of the neo zeong. The only thing left intact was the cockpit ball. If the ...

Re: Full Metal Panic: Invisible Victory

So the first ep is out amd so far so good. And its official skipping DVMC and moving straight along first ep ends right before the school gets taken hostage. I can only guess that things are going to be moving at light speed as we've seen leviathan in the promo trailer? Cant remember where but pret...

Re: Full Metal Panic: Invisible Victory

FULL METAL PANIC IS BACK BABY!!! As expected we have skipped the DVMC arc (though the show may come back to it in a flashback) and jumped right back into the thick of things with the CoMO arc. We have the calm before a very very big storm. Amalgam is taking off the kid gloves and *hit's about to go ...

Re: New Gundam Show To Be Announced April 20th, 2018

Considering we have the author of the Unicorn novels and 2 other people who worked on the OVA series, I'm inclined to believe this new project is somehow connected to Gundam Unicorn. While Namikawa and Ogata have worked on more than one gundam series, Fukui's only credit that is gundam related is th...

Re: Full Metal Panic: Invisible Victory

For those who are unaware, a few months ago FMP IV was removed from the Fall 2017 listings. Luckily it turns out it's just getting delayed since it is now slated for spring of 2018. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-07-01/full-metal-panic-invisible-victory-anime-premieres-in-spring-2018/.11...

So even Japan only has 4 chapters? Do we know for sure that's all or has Sunrise just been tight-lipped about it?

False Prophet wrote: Sat Jun 24, 2017 9:36 pm Would Twilight AXIS be better as a feature film? I mean, the original source novel is neither long nor complicated enough for the story to be sliced into multiple episodes like this.
Is the novel already finished in Japan? I was under the impression it was still ongoing.

Re: The Official Gundam Twilight AXIS Anime Thread Mk I

Well just saw the first episode...*sigh* I guess it should come to no one's surprise that unless you've read the novel you'll have no idea what's going on. Hell, even if you've read the novel there's not much to enjoy. The episode pretty much compresses 2-3 chapters into less than 4 minutes. The epi...

Re: The Official Gundam Twilight AXIS Anime Thread Mk I

Damn and I thought S2 of thunderbolt was over compressing its source material. Can't say i'm thrilled about this especially since I enjoyed the first few chapters. Now the question is will this cover the entire novel, which is still ongoing, or just up to a certain point?

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk III

Well... now we got a extra reason to see why Dainsleffs were banned... those things are EXTREMELY long range. Hitting from space onto the surface. That's actually gravity doing most of the work. Hell they could have just dropped them rather than fire them into Mars' gravity and it would pretty much...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

I have a lot of mixed feelings about this episode. On one hand the fight was good, Lok is dead, and it's good to see that most of Tekkadan made it out alive. On the other hand Rustal's actions during the epilogue just don't make sense to me. I really can't recall any point in the series that implied...

Re: The Official Gundam Thunderbolt Anime Thread Mk I

I suppose the advantage of no explosives would be that you have more maneuverability since you don't have the extra weight and you don't run the risk of one lucky round going through the cargo area and setting off the whole fireworks display prematurely. Its also possible that it did have explosives...

Re: The Official Gundam Thunderbolt Anime Thread Mk I

-Ep 3 was an improvement over 2, but I still didn't quite like it. Darryl wiping out the EF fleet didn't feel quite as exciting as other battles, despite it being a turning point for the battle. I had mixed thoughts about the Psycho Zaku, since I'm not fond of units that are supposedly made much mo...

Re: The Official Gundam Thunderbolt Anime Thread Mk I

And so we now return to Gundam Thunderbolt. Surprisingly episode 5 is actually 4 minutes longer than than the average thunderbolt episode episode (19 minutes if ignore the ending credits) though there's two minutes of reused footage from December sky but with sound effects this time. So I wonder if ...
