Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

Weapons pack add-on similar the VF-25s Armored pack can also help in bombing capabilities too. But like you said, the VF-171 and VF-25 are good examples of that.

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

These are very good points mentioned above and a learning experience for me. Thank you for the info as usual.

I wonder if we'll see any new Fighter Bomber units like the VAB-2 that became the Varuta's FBz-99G Saubergeran in Macross 7. The Koneg Monster does fulfill that job though.

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

The VF-31 Kairos can make for a possible replacement, as well VF-25. The VF-25 would likely be a upgraded model given the new show is set after Delta. If so, it'd probably look more of a grunt unit, to look less heroic as Kawamori said with the VF-171 being the grunt unit over the VF-19 in Frontier....

Re: The Macross Valkyrie Thread

Hopefully in the upcoming new Macross TV show, there'll be a replacement grunt unit for the VF-171... that specific unit has been in 2 shows already... and even then its related to a unit from the Macross 7... I know in Macross the grunt valkryies majority of the time get their asses kicked but its ...

I have these 2 games, but haven't played them yet. They are in my heavy backlog so one of these years I'll get to it.

Re: Topic Submission Thread MK III

A what if scenario to how Gundam and Macross would be like if you swapped Tomino and Kawamori.

What would Macross TV shows be like with Tomino and UC Gundam TV with Kawamori?

Primary thrusters majority of the time are in the backpack/skirt of mobile suit units atleast in UC, not the feet.

Re: New Macross TV series in 2018

From what I've seen and heard, Delta has done very very well in merchandising. BD sales I'm not sure compared to Frontier but pretty well I'm guessing. Something different might be the case, or as Kaiba pointed earlier, plans changed during production.

Oh yeah... I forgot Defender and Phalanx were made from spare parts of other destroids.

VF-1, Spartan, Monster Mk-2, and Tomahawk of UN Spacey vs Zentradi male and female powered armor, regult and Glaug in Macross TV show.

Re: New Macross TV series in 2018

So it sounds like Macross mangas do what certain Gundam mangas do too, by referencing more to previous works outside of Gundam anime that is.

Re: New Macross TV series in 2018

Hmm, good point, for some reason I thought Delta would've followed the same route as Frontier and gotten a movie version, to alteast make a bit more sense from the 2nd half and that ending. Oh well.

But thanks for the info, it makes more sense when you put it that way.

Re: New Macross TV series in 2018

Pity, maybe a movie version might happen in the future? Or maybe all the focus will go into the next TV show and Delta might get a OVA or something sometime later during a Anniversary year.

Re: New Macross TV series in 2018

Kind of weird a new Macross show is coming out before a possible movie(s) version of Delta.

Re: Why do the bad guys usually have more different models than the good guys?

I agree that we really are getting off topic for this thread, probably best to make a separate thread for GM vs Gelgoog. I'm not sure if it was mentioned earlier in the thread, but in terms of different mecha units, original Macross/DYRL the good guys had more units. Since all the VF-1 Valkryies hav...

Re: Knight's & Magic

I don't know, length of novels doesn't determine a season anymore it seems, unless the show/novel is super popular or if the anime is greenlight for another season, there might be enough material. Plus the pacing is going by really fast in the 2 eps so far. Plus they might go for a original anime en...

Re: Knight's & Magic

Few shows are more than 1 cour (12 eps) these days. Unless there is another season, 2 cour anime in a season is pretty rare now.

Re: Why do the bad guys usually have more different models than the good guys?

From what I've read and seen in various media in Gundam regarding the OYW, the regular GM barely had any beam rifles, majority of the time they had either various machine guns or beam spray guns or the occasional bazooka. GM production numbers mean nothing about the number of beam rifles equipped on...

Re: Knight's & Magic

The only aspect I'm enjoying is the mecha fights so far and the escaflowne like pistons and gears going combining with alchemy helps it stand out more than other fantasy mecha shows, but looking at the OP rather than being a bit more grounded (no pun intended), it looks like its going to be a bit mo...

Re: Knight's & Magic

AmuroNT1 makes a good point with the Gary Stu aspects... a lot of web novels turning into light novels/manga/anime involve the MC being reborn and having all memories of their adult life, most of the time they are genius who remember a bunch of their life stuff but it doesn't really mean much when i...

Re: Why do the bad guys usually have more different models than the good guys?

Top speed might be a factor in a one on one dogfight or possibly hit and run tactics in skirmishes as shown in Thunderbolt, but in a wide battlefield like Solomon and ABQ it is not a reliable factor. You can use real life fighters as examples, but they really don't mean much comparing to MS combat w...
