The last episode but divided into 2 parts... I am both excited by this and also sad that this is going to come to an end soon for Chaos Theater...

Re: TV Tropes lists ZoE's Jehuty as a super prototype, even though it isn't

Dougram is the only prototype Combat Armor in Fang of the Sun Dougram, but in the beginning the Liberation Army leader Dr. Samalin (who also designed the Dougram) said there were plans on mass producing it when they have more time and resources. The Liberation Army only had the Dougram in the beginn...

Re: The obsoletion of MS-manned gun emplacements

In late UC (UC 120-150s), TMS are not a factor for Federation or League Militare unless the Victory Gundam. Z/ZZ/CCA/Unicorn/Hathaways's Flash sub flight systems are heavily used. But during the UC 120s and onward not anymore. Maybe on Earth during the 120s it might be the case because the Jegans ar...

Re: The obsoletion of MS-manned gun emplacements

In Hathaway's Flash novel and in SD Gundam games, the Gustav Karl and Messa mobile suits have their own special flying platforms that have built in beam cannons. But with the advent of smaller scale mobile suits that are a lot more manueverable along with having more flight capabilities and better f...

Re: TV Tropes lists ZoE's Jehuty as a super prototype, even though it isn't

Funny enough is that the numbering of the GM series and its descendants is that they deployed a good number of years after their model number namesake. Jamesgun and Javelin especially. But interesting, in the manga adaptation of Climax U.C game that starts with OYW and ends with the conflict in F-91...

Re: TV Tropes lists ZoE's Jehuty as a super prototype, even though it isn't

But the GM II is barely much of a upgrade from the regular GM, only thing of significance outside of its generator upgrade is the 360 cockpit, and like the Hizack it was a placeholder until more stronger mass production units were made and a way to cheaply upgrade the aging MS in the Federation afte...

Re: TV Tropes lists ZoE's Jehuty as a super prototype, even though it isn't

I would like to add that the Origin showed the earlier prototype and testing phases of Zeon's 1st mobile suits from the worker units to the Bugu that lead to the Zaku I and Zaku II. Of course this is part of the Origin timeline that takes its own liberties in trying to modernize some things like the...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk III

The reason I asked is that I think in the 1st ep of S2 when Mika is activating the Lupus in space before freefalling onto Mars, the inside of the cockpit looks a bit different, maybe more modern compared to the kind of dirty and rundown version in the 1st season, cause the Teiwaz logo pops up too in...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk III

Interesting... I didn't know Gusion Rebake used the module of the Graze cockpit (I thought it was a Man Rodi cockpit module) but it would make sense they would've been able to salvage either the Grazes they took down on Mars (ground or space) and use the Man Rodi's AV system/seat. Did they replace o...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk III

According to the HG kit for the Grimgarde, the Valkyria Frames were general purpose units that were easy to use and as ease of maintenance that evolved over the years to its descendants Geirail and Graze.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk III

Sorry, by reliable I meant combat record against MAs since that was their main purpose when being built. I guess it would depend on the equipment on the Gundams, as I think all of them had specialized equipment unlike the mass produced Hexa and Rodi frames, some even being capable of using the Dains...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk III

Given how reliable and powerful the Gundams are, it makes sense they were at the front lines all the time against the MAs. Especially since all earlier attempts with mobile suits proved futile. And that most of those Gundams were lost too during the Calamity War.

Re: Ep. 124: MCU 2017 & Stranger Things 2

Really fun episode, wish Stranger things 2 segment was a little longer but the MCU segment more than made up for it. Both Spiderman Homecoming and Thor Ragnarok movies were amazing to me and I put them in my top 5. Winter Soldier, Civil War, Avengers 1, Spiderman Homecoming and Thor Ragnarok being m...

Re: How can OZ mass-produce Virgos with Gundanium Alloy?

The lazy and inconsistency in both animation and combat in Wing doesn't help things either, that the Gundams have invincible armor until the plot demands they get damaged while the Virgo can get shot down by a beam rifle shot when its defensors are not deployed even though they should be just as dur...

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

At this rate I'm expecting to see either Side Story End of Flash units from Encounters in Space with RX78-4/5 and Action Zaku or 0081 units with RX78-7 along with RX-81 or Efreet Nacht. Most of the main OYW games have been covered now aside from Blue Destiny, which could also come back, but the Pale...

Re: Gundam Vs. Series Discussion Topic

Age 2 is not a surprise, given that the Zeydra was just announced and that both Zeydra and Age 2 are in Maxi Boost. Murdrock also makes sense given its the rival pilot in Zeonic Front because Gerhart Schmitzer and his custom Zaku I were announced pretty recently too. Usually it tends to be 2 units p...

Re: Legend of the Galactic Heroes to get a new anime.

Well... Spiral Labyrinth designs to a degree was also quite different because it also had different designs from the previous movie/main series/side story OVA as well as Golden Wings. So having different character designs is also not really new to LOGH. Its already been done twice.

Re: Why was the Guncannon Detector was made?

For one thing Chobham armor is useless against beam weapons, and would also weigh down the MS considerably. The GM Cannon II is also a much older unit and parts/maintenance will be harder to find and its performance is not that great to begin with outside artillery. The Guncannon Detector is based o...

Re: The need for prototypes to surpass the mass-production models

Viper's Creed comes to mind with the main antagonist complaining that he hates prototypes because they are unreliable and break down, and its shown to be the case, lol With Muvluv, there really isn't a difference between prototypes and the mass production models as they all can be upgraded as they h...

Re: Legend of the Galactic Heroes to get a new anime.

Jojo part 3's designs, atleast in terms of animation/charater designs is quite different in the TV version compared to the 90s OVAs.
