Re: When did modellers start pronoucing 'decals' as...

Yeah, one of the newer fellows that builds with "thosegundamguys" is from Vancouver and it was the first time I heard dee-cals pronounced deckles. A few of us were thrown back, but then we just started asking what that was all aboot, and that sorta settled things.

Re: Modeling Tips/Techniques/Help links

Both are safe on plastic. Top Coat is acrylic based, water soluble, Mr Super Clear is lacquer based. Both dry fast, however, the top coat, since it's acrylic, will take longer to fully cure (chemically settle and bond to the plastic). Super Clear will be cured once it's dried for a few hours. The di...

Re: MG Gouf 2.0 with Neograde Gouf Custom Conversion Completed

Yeah, I spray several layers of clear as well, but airbrush layers are always going to be fairly thing. This was the first kit I used the note paper slips as guards. I will be doing this from now on when I get my final assembly and build. Even with so many layers of clear, I've found ways to scratch...

Re: MG Gouf 2.0 with Neograde Gouf Custom Conversion Completed

Thanks! The decals were pulled from random sheets in my box of decals. Most of the decals are from samuel decals. I know that the gouf-girl decal I used is from SamuelDecals. I believe the Sieg Zeon decals are from a friend of mine - MarkW on here and other message boards; that just randomly printed...

Re: MG Musha Mk II completed

The horn and helmet details were just painted by hand using a fine brush. I recommend using enamels as they take a while to cure and are easily wipe away if you mess up or have excess. The kit itself wasn't painted; well the thrusters were.

Re: MG GN-X

That blue is gorgeous (even if it'd get wrecked in battle). What's that shade called? and also how easy was it to change the LEDs for the drive? It's an idea I was considering to make a Trans-Am Exia. The blue is Finisher's Metallic Indigo. Finisher's is a japanese brand of lacquer paint for model ...
