Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk
Gave the episode a second watch. The Barbatos stuff felt less out of left field, but the Gjallahorn stuff felt MORE out of left field. Or maybe not Gjallahorn, but those two whose musings that the show liked to cut to. It felt even more like wasted time on a second viewing. Which is a shame, because...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk
There we go! Thanks. I missed the bit where Mika tells Kudelia about the base being powered by an Ahab reactor. That makes more sense.
I should probably watch the episode again; it had a lot going on, and it was pretty late when I fired it up.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk
Bit late to the party, but some Thoughts! +Nice artwork that fits with the setting. +I'm getting very strong vibes from the core cast - likable, and with a good internal dynamic. Also, lacking in cliche, for the most part, which is nice. +Kudelia is already leaps and bounds better than similar Gunda...

Re: Best Unicorn/Banshee/Phenex?
The PG is incredible. The wrists and shoulder joints aren't great, but everything else is NAILED. Best transformation you'll find, too - smooth, stable, well-designed - and probably the most show-accurate proportions too. Really good kit. I dunno if I'd say the MG is "rubbish", but it's de...

Re: Final Fantasy VII PS4
They've said that they're not planning on introducing any new characters. They could be excluding Compilation characters from their definition of "new", I guess, but assuming the comment can be taken at face value, I'd imagine the various sequels and prequels and tie-ins will get easter eg...

Definitely not. I might have a copy kicking around somewhere though, I'll see if I can find it.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk
My opinion is still pretty neutral, considering how many unknowns there are. Mari Okada has some spotty stuff on her resume, and some pretty strong stuff, but nothing that really resembles a SERIOUS BUSINESS mecha war series. Same goes for Tatsuyuki Nagai. Character designs are fine, I guess - nothi...

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk VII
Interesting. So the Phenix was presumably built either alongside or shortly after the Banshee (considering the Banshee appears in "One of Seventy-Two" as well)? That actually makes it fit into the timeline pretty well. You know, I've always been a bit curious about the RX-0 development tim...

Re: Miharu Zabi
More interestingly would have seen him arguing with Gihren since it looks that he would be the kind to openly disagree with him. I could see Gihren either getting seriously screwed over because he neglected to get Sasro and his propaganda machine on his side, or him being shrewd enough to try and d...

Re: Discrepancies in Gundam political and military formation
Maybe. But at this point, without official info, all we can really do is speculate. Anything beyond "there was a prime minister at the start of UC, but doesn't seem to be a specific head of state by the time of the OYW", is really just a pet theory. That's not to say that the vagueness of ...

Re: The Later Universal Century and afterwards
Regarding Unicorn's ending, it fits better than you might think, and you don't even have to get all cynical and say "it had no effect at all in the end." As noted by Amion , the one major political change made clear across F91 and Victory is that the Federation has a greatly weakened/dimin...

Re: Discrepancies in Gundam political and military formation
Isn't the Federation currency called Kules? Pretty sure that term comes up in 0080. As for Prime Minister, it's also worth noting that Canada has a Prime Minister, too, and the "monarchs" of the UK and Japan have zero political power. So, yes, the leader of a country can be called the Prim...

Re: Gundam SEED movie greenlit plus other Gundam projects
I dunno, that comes off as a fairly non-committal answer to me. "We can't answer with specific details, but we'll make an announcement if the time comes that we have something to announce."
I mean, that COULD be a confirmation, yeah. It could also just be dodging the question.

Re: The Official Gundam Unicorn Anime Thread Mk VII
How could it possibly involve the Neo Zeong? The only way I can think of involving it is if Anaheim made it to go after the Phenix and Frontal steals it, but man, talk about contrived.

Back up a minute here: what's this about a new blu-ray set? Incoming Memorial Box?
EDIT: oh wait, never mind, this is the art/design/world thing. Never mind, disregard.

THE ORIGIN manga does fudge the occasional age, and IIRC Char's was one.

He really can't, can he? At least he realized it was a bit TOO much with Ramba Ral and Chalia Bull, and adjusted them accordingly.
Is there any mention of how old everyone's supposed to be in the OVA?

Re: The Official Gundam The Origin Anime Thread Mk I
Just what I've been saying this entire thread: a remake of MSG isn't needed, and may not even be entirely desirable, from Banrise's point of view, despite the (apparent) fan clamour for one. The original show and movies are popular to the point of being sacrosanct, still command a huge pop culture p...
