Re: Upcoming Models, Merch, & Rumors XI

It's not GG's review. This is why I hate blog's that completely repost content.

"90s MG frame" is practically an oxymoron.

Re: Upcoming Models, Merch, & Rumors XI

There may yet be hope of a Dagger But there already is a Dagger. You really have to actually word that one right. Robot Damashii Strike Dagger is a thing somehow, anyways. Which is some compensation for the production mold of RD Duel looking like concentrated stupid. Not so much for HG M1 looking c...

Re: Guaiz experimental firearms type deployment

Proto-Chaos is basically the same kind of thing, but it's not derived from a standard model.

ZAKU Splendor, anyways.

Re: UC Trivia: Mobile Suit Production Costs

Comparing Dom and Rick Dom production costs has some extenuating economic factors. The short answer is that mass producing the Rick Dom was cheap as hell, considering it was always a stopgap machine. The complication is that the low cost is in good part tied to the fact that most of the development ...

Re: Research: Regenerate Gundam's armaments

Huh. Legend's large DRAGOONs have the same nozzle layout as Providence's, but from checking the GundamInfo footage it does seem the front set are only used for the spikes. Even in the fire and move sequence copped from Providence, it only fires 5 beams from them instead of 9. There's also a rather e...

Re: Destiny Gundam just a test platform

Lightwave pulse thrusters are used on the GINN High Maneuver Type though. Also METEORs, but they are rather large. There's no indication they can use an external projection system for a boost however. DSSD's Astrays special propulsion system heavily resembles (and is somewhat described like) lightwa...

Re: Destiny Gundam just a test platform

Mobile suits have these crazy "arm" things that affect the force a melee weapon is swung with. There's a reason Infinite Justice makes such big swings. When Freedom swings its saber at beam shots they aren't shown bouncing off or anything (which wouldn't necessarily make any sense) but rat...

Re: Upcoming Models, Merch, & Rumors XI

Aegis is a pretty well designed transformation, the frame wouldn't be a big deal. Bandai has done far dumber things. Sometimes successfully.

Re: Upcoming Models, Merch, & Rumors XI

I will probably buy the HD version GINN for the marking decals, honestly. I mean, GINNs actually do appear with unit numbers and things occasionally in SEED and I never mind having more GINNs.

I can see something like MG Justice finally coming out of this anyways.

Hyper Impulse Cannons are probably some sort of particle cannon by virtue of "impulse" in their name.

Re: AoZ2: Rebels Against Time Mechanics

http://hobby.dengeki.com/20110827/92-news/#more-92 Apparently a new Gundam designed for Amuro? Is that from Yanase Takayuki (of Gundam 00)? Design seems to be a break from contemporary machines of the time. Unless I've horribly mis-estimated, Ryota Magaki, who is listed as a designer for AoZ2 and i...

A) Can also use physical machineguns rounds. B) Is meant to look like the 105 Dagger's machiengun C) Or the old mahcineguns are converted into beam weapons D) Shares parts, construction, and form factor with the machinegun. Think of in current firearms terms things like the AUG Para which uses a di...

Re: About Macross, should any of it be possible?

Aegis Focker is all but confirmed as a clone son of Roy. It's also worth keeping in mind that most Macross fleets aren't that big, and their population should also grow after they're launched. Frontier is larger than usual-a hell of a lot apparently, at 10,000,000 people as of 2059-but a normal one ...

Re: Why the backlash against fanservice in anime in general?

Super Skank Wars. ... I want to watch WRESTLING. And if I just wanted to see pretty women cuddling each other, there's other things for that. Really now? REALLY? If you watch wrestling for the "wrestling", there's far more things wasting your one or two hour show than a single women's seg...

Re: Kampfer

You know, the Rick Dom really kind of sucks. Its only advantage is that they cranked out a crapton of them very quickly as a spinoff of the real, actually good at what it does Dom while waiting for a real Zaku replacement. Without the advantage of hovering it's a bit of a waist. The Kampfer is the f...

Re: Kampfer

I think you're all jobbing the Kampfer pretty hard. It's hard to say just how good of a pilot Akira is, but it's still a monster of a One Year War mobile suit. There's basically two major reference points you want to look at here-the YMS-18 in Ecole Du Ciel, and the OYW MS-primarily of the Gelgoog v...

While I have yet to find the an updated sales figure on gunpla sold by units per series , here is a perspective on the scale of the gunpla business. By 1984, the total plamo sold was 100 million units. By 2010, it was almost 400 million units sold ( that's almost 3 units per japanese). 10 million o...
