Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

...hmmm I might have missed that part, but still he was able to move from dying poor and became a player in the world stage. For that he was lucky. I can't even possibly fathom anyone in McGillis' situation can be considered "lucky". I don't want to get too much into debate on this but I'm sorry bu...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk III

I'm not sure what you're referring to that Bael discarded one of its swords Bael lost one of its blades in its first fight against KV Just goes to show that Kimaris overpowered and outgunned Bael. Despite the KV likely being designed to pretty much counter everything the Bael had (which wasn't much...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

This episode really made me feel bad for McGIllis. He was an extremely lucky child that got the opportunity leave the streets, have a better than average education, a fulfilling job, have friends and possible a love interest. Had he being able to go beyond his childish delusions of grandeur he coul...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk III

My bad, it's neither the space nor the ground, it's the Ares configuration (still an EB-06 instead of a more dedictaed EB-06j), but again, it's still a moot point.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk III

^Meh, Hush would have been toasted either way. Worth noting that the Graze he's fighting has the space configuration as well.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

I like a good internet sparring session as much as the next guy, but everyone seem to be getting a little too heated up. Anyways. 8) Err....you realize Hush is a side character, just like Zack and the big dude right? It seems you wanted Hush to be a significant player somehow. He was built up to be ...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk III

Before, I had McGillis winning and really beasting on KV. After, when It seemed like when KV red-eyed (when Gaelio asked "Ein") he started to get the upper hand on Bael, and was just pushing Bael back until he pinned him on the side of the ship and ultimately winning. Plus there's the frequent shots...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

Is Hush's status of becoming a human walking stick and being a yes-man for about 15 episodes... good character development to you, regardless of his skills in MS? When did I ever say it was character development? I said it was his character ARC. There's a difference. I didn't say you said it was ch...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

Ultimately Hush was recognized by Mika not only as someone to protect but as a capable comrade hence why he "left that area to Hush" eventhough he knew he was dead/dying. Ultimately he was recognized as a capable pilot. I thought Mika was just saying nice words that one would say to a dying comrade.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Mecha Thread Mk III

So when Gaelio asked for "Ein" to crank it up against McGillis, do you guys think the Kimaris has entered the same state that Barbatos had against Hashmal, when it had the trailing-red-eye effect? Is it me or did McGillis fire his wing binder cannons at the Kimaris Vidar at the end of their duel (af...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

I feel like many of the newer shows forget that and focus too much on the robot porn and/or more conventional anime tropes to lure in audiences. Meanwhile IBO likes to focus on pilots getting impaled, blood on their eyes and their mouth, and some death speech about things like we're supposed to car...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

Hahaha, this episode probably has done more character development for certain guys than the first 23 episodes of S2. I loved it. +Mika. He's going nuts against Gjallarhorn, don't get me wrong. But it's not a wild, berserker Mika, but of pure, calculated brutality. +Eugene. I've always wanted to see ...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

As many as the deaths are in IBO, there's still an abnormally large cast of named characters to begin with. For example, Gundam 00 S1 had 3named character deaths towards the end (on the protagonist side) but seemed more impactful because of how small a crew Celestial Being was.

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

One thing that may point out that McGillis may not be behind this is the timing; When Macky starts to get real annoyed by Orga and Mika's insistance that he follow Orga, he was trapped in the same Tekkadan base that has had their communications cut off. He did step out for "personal business" but th...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

Here we go, Mikazuki fulli unleashed after this episode. Deaths will be had. -Kinda ok that (the last scene) happened, but at the same time IBO is not really subtle when it comes to things like this. "It will all work out! Happy ending! yay!" +Who owns those hitmen??? Effin' plot device guys, I tell...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

Watch there be a shopping episode with Mika getting dragged along to look at pregnancy-friendly dresses with Atra and Kudelia, with maybe even a Kudelia impersonator with bad Engrish thrown into the mix. Understood the reference, but would be ok if Atra gets offed by a random dude in the process, c...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk IV

But setting aside the legality and symbolism of the Bael gambit, I still think it's a stupid plan because he had absolutely no guarantee that it would work I think had he actually killed Gaelio he wouldn't have to pull out the Bael move so early and instead would have continued to increase his infl...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk III

^It's all fine and dandy if she realized that doing what she's done now is better, than a political figurehead, I'm not arguing that, but my point is, if that's the case, then she should no longer be relevant to Tekkadan and to the main story. Shes otherwise hogging screentime. Again I ask, what has...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk III

I mean, how many times can you go back to the "Orga stop being stupid we're family we're in this together" well before you're pulling up mud? You know people laugh at Vin Diesel's shtick in the FnF frachise for repetitive use of "family" Part of the problem is too many characters with overlap...

Re: The Official Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans Anime Thread Mk III

Well, in any case, If Rustal being the actual big bad is considered a "failure" by the writers, then I would say it won't be the first; They've failed to develop Kudelia, Hush, Julietta among others as anyone of significance when they have shown great potential to be interesting characters early on...
