4. There are no dangerous weapons, only dangerous people.
I used to think so, until I heard stories of people die or maimed by weapon malfunction.

Yes, dangerous weapons exist. They aren't designed that way, and that's what make them dangerous.

Re: The need for prototypes to surpass the mass-production models

Well, on the not-so-super prototype in Gundam, we also have two nice examples, the V Gundam and Strike Gundam. Both have "stop-gap" water-down model (Gun EZ and Strike Dagger) because they need something to fill their rank, but the actual MP model is identical for V Gundam, and even superior for Str...

Re: The need for prototypes to surpass the mass-production models

Well...

In Votoms Steel Force video game, there's prototype of Scopedog call Spending Wolf. It's slower than Scopedog. But they really want the thing to come back from field test for data colelction, so it has thicker armor and some "luxury" like fire extinguisher.

Hmm... In the series, I thought Renato bros are jerks who trash-talk at their opponent. Now I see them as some very serious real roleplayers.
SpoilerShow
I guess Meijin want to make them a little more loosen up at playing Gunpla Battle, but by the end he see that they're having fun in their own way.

Re: Why do people overlook the commanding officer?

None of them are overlooked.

If you think the story focus more on the protagonist more than them, well, that's how it should be. We're watching story, not documentary.

Re: Why do people overlook the commanding officer?

Please give an example of someone who's truly overlooked.

I can think of some who's overshadowed by the team's ace, but can't think of one who's totally ignored.

Re: The SE Project and its fate

When I said "alternate timeline" I didn't mean it as a formal term, it's just that AFAIK the background events of the story is contradict with orthodox continuity already. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Nemo is called RS-81 in TS because it was developed in UC 81? (the one in profile is an impro...

Re: Tokusatsu

I admit I'm mildly disappointed at the slow pace of the Kuuga manga because I hear it goes to some interesting places. Most prominently it starts crossing over with Agito, with Shoichi's sister Yukina actually showing up alive, and even turning into a female Agito. Huh? Does that mean fan RPG Masqu...

Re: GUNDAM BUILD FIGHTERS : BATTLOGUE/GM's Counterattack

My...while researching about Winning Fumina, I found that her most awesome feature is left out. When her costume armor is seperate, it can form an SD Star Winning Gundam and act as her support robot (and I would assume that the same can be said to Command Fumina). On the darkside, that really remind...

Re: GUNDAM BUILD FIGHTERS : BATTLOGUE/GM's Counterattack

Yes, very funny. And also a reminiscence of old SD series.

I noticed midway that they are not Fumina and Gyanko, but Super Fumina and Hyper Gyanko gunpla. In other words, technically it isn't even set in GBF-verse but completely different world of sentient gunpla.

Wing Gundam Zero Neo Bird mode. More grainy, but what we have is so white-washed that it's very hard to see detail.

Re: Harmony Gold vs Tatsunoko

Yeah, you can always count on BattleTech and MechWarrior for those few surreal "world turned upside down" moments where Harmony Gold is suing someone and aren't the bad guys in that situation. It's more of "bad guy vs. bad guy" IMO. HG is slightly lesser of the two evils because at least they did b...

Re: How fast can the Newtype brainwave be?

Do you even read what you quote? It say he's allowed to do whatever he want without concern about canon, not that it isn't canon (I myself suspect that the original text is likely use continuity instead of canon, but whatever). Source? We've gone through this canon crap so many times, and ultimately...

Thunderbolt is non-canon.
Source? We've gone through this canon crap so many times, and ultimately we still hold on single statement - if it's animate works then it's official.

Re: How fast can the Newtype brainwave be?

Don't be misled by fiction, Space is huge, and there is hardly "very dense" space. Debris field spread out pretty fast, and larger lumps actually will clear out the smaller ones. Sadly we're talking about fiction here, don't be misled by reality. We can see a very dense debris zone in Thunderbolt, ...

Re: Which series has "cornerstone" mecha designs?

ZCDX-01 Whale King , although it isn't so great as warship (its main function is carrier). There're also Jaguar Vulcan and GigaBitus . Again, both are more of carrier that can fight pretty well. If you count dragon, then there're also the three Maryu from Gaiking: Legend of Daiku-Maryu, Gundole fro...

Huh? Is the girl suppose to be Fraw or Maureen? Well, I guess she's both.

Usual GBF-T power showcase, but they blow it at the end. There is nice touch like how Sakai get Getter-ish effect after combination, but overall drop down from the first episode.
